Hi,
I’ve been browsing some different sets from the 30’s & came across this one 1938 Goudey Gum Heads Up I’ve looked on eBay and saw that it seems to have 2 different designs on these cards…such as https://www.ebay.ca/itm/394704511798...Bk9SR-rJ0dmxYg https://www.ebay.ca/itm/394698592571...Bk9SR9bT7dmxYg I love the design of these. I favour the ones with the small drawings on the 4 corners. We’re there 2 different sets made for these cards? If you have any additional info I’d be interested in. thanks!

High numbers have the cartoons (#s 265-288) and there's a couple guys in both the high/low series (around 25). Was just probably something they thought would add value/demand when releasing the second series as it makes them "different" from the low series.

Random question: did/do you really need to use text speak to save a few letters in typing out a thread heading? Genuinely curious. I guess it obviously did catch my eye.

People on here do not know about 1938 Goudeys....bring a legit question to the guys over at net54.

![]() we here at Blowout know our stuff, some more than others. come on now, a little respect my guy if you want real help, post this over in the "vintage" forum, not in this one. and to answer the original question, yes, there were two different sets in the 38' Goudy set. the tougher pull is the one showing the drawings and stats.

It’s a 48 card set. The players in the first 24 (241-264) are the same as in the second 24 (265-288), and as you said, the second 24 has extra cartoonish additions. There are some error cards. Ernie Lombardi comes to mind.
It’s a great set. Might be tough to find especially if you are grade-sensitive and want consistency in your set. |
