Hello everyone, I have a buddy that contacted me because he knows I buy and sell collections of cards and coins. He told me he had an 8 x 10 Autographed picture of Kobe Bryant that he received a redemption for in a pack of cards 25 years ago. He sent it in and got this back. I never knew of any products that had these in there but then again, I didn't do a lot of basketball collecting back then. I would love to know what product this came from, if it is legit, and how much you think it might be worth as I will be adding it to my collection if it is what he says it is. I trust this guy very much so I don't see him lying but I was just curious either way as he says he doesn't remember what he pulled it out of. I know regular authentic signed 8 x 10 pictures with COA go for $100-$200 normally but thought this one might be rarer and hold more value and want to make sure I give him a fair deal. Just let me know. Also sorry about the cropped off picture he contacted me tonight before he was heading to bed and took a couple quick pictures and wanted to make sure the sticker was visible in both. I will be going to his house tomorrow so I can take better pictures if needed. Thanks Chris

It might be a scoreboard redemption. They inserted redemptions for signed 8x10 in the mid/late 90s. Usually came with an letter.

The holo comes on every licensed photo if it’s not part of the picture itself

Your buddy is 100% right that it came as a redemption in some type of Score Board product. And Kobe did have a contract with the company/Ken Goldin but that pretty quickly became a legal squabble.

Scoreboard inserted redemptions for signed 8x10s and other things but most went unfulfilled. They were in financial trouble and went bankrupt before they could send them to collectors.
