2023 Upper Deck Loki Season 1 - Case Break

This was such a weird case

. Box 7 had two tempads in single pack. Box 3 and Box 7 had extra number parallel(s). Box 11 had no number parallel. Box 1 a missing film cel hit or maybe auto?

Box/Pack odds state: Tempad Metal Cards, Tempad Dual Metal Cards, Tempad Metal Autographs Tier 1&2, Loki Variant Holograms, TVA Holograms, Time Theather Film Cels Autos, Time Theater Film Cels Dual Autos, Glorious Purple Signatures, Deceptive Signatures, Variant Dual SignaturesTier 1&2, Loki Autographs, Loki Horizontal Variant Autographs, Journey Into Mystery Signatures - 1:15.

Those odds mention nothing of film cel manufactured relics. Even if I include tier 5 & 6 film cels into those odds. Boxes 8 and 9 had two film cels each but both were commons.

Most if not all my yellow parallel packs had seven cards. Most packs are suppose to be 6 cards. I think most boxes had a 5 card pack. Box 1 I had a 4 card pack. Film cel packs contain just one card besides film cel.

I only hit one autograph, but its a decent one at least. I've double checked all base piles and parallels/insert piles didn't find missing auto. Here is summary hits and box break out.

Holograms are cool, but the print on TVA one was dark and hard to see tv show scene. The loki holograms are cartoon art?? I don't know where they got the cartoon art. Art is not from the show, maybe concept art? I think the art style mirrors the episode one animation sequence explaining variants and TVA. Anyone know where the art comes from? I did quick flip of The Art of Loki book and didn't see the cartoon art.

Based on UD's 1:15 odds I missed four hits? If I add tier 5 and 6 films cels missed two hits? I suspect I missed a tier 5 film cel and auto. I'll email UD and hope for best. They usually do well to make things right.

Overall base card design I think is good. Green parallels are nice and probably favorite. Purples have terrible flaking on edges. Yellow are pretty boring and flat. Miss Minutes and Alligator Loki are nicer than yellow with different foil on silver trim and different background on borders.

I ripped 3 boxes on release day and then 2 more the next day. Didn't pull any autos, did pull 5 Film Cels, 3 Tempad Metals and 3 Variants. Very disappointing product.

Imho, "hits" from non-sports should be autos, sketches, mem, or printing plates.
Anything else is filler and they should post those odds separately.

Yeah, tried 2 boxes and basically left it all at my lcs except for the hologram which I listed on Ebay for $40cnd and noone wants it so not trying anymore of this garbage

Have a few cases of this sitting in the corner. Love your autograph. Tough to decide to rip or not at 1-2 Auto's per case. I miss sketch cards.

Thanks, auto is good one for sure. Pulling a single auto isn't a shocker after seeing some Shang-chi cases. It seems like Upper Deck is pouring cold water on MCU cards. They've removed costume/prop relics from MCU, removed sketches from MCU, and most manufactured relics leave much to be desired. There are more auto inscriptions which is nice, but overall products are becoming less enjoyable to break. I'm happy Upper Deck is putting out product though. Its just priced wrong for what consumers receive in return.

If the cases were cheap for you to buy, you could open one and sell one?

I personally would only open cases vs. loose boxes. If you open a sealed case and miss some case hits(1 auto), than you can at least message UD and try to open a claim. If you open loose boxes and get nothing but film cels... well you are basically just getting average Upper Deck MCU hobby these days.

Hopefully, there will be some nice holiday sales next few years on sealed MCU.

Got a 99/99, which is incredibly satisfying, but all my inserts were cut poorly, so I contacted customer service on that. Great Auto!! Def waiting for the price drop to grab more.

I opened six boxes.

Got 9 TTFC- 4, 7, 8, 11, 24, 25, 27 (2) & 32, 1 TVA holo TVAH-1 and 1 TVA Variant Auto VA-TH, which is quite a whopper since I like Tom Hiddleston.

If not for the auto, it would have been pretty tough.

That said, disappointed Titan didn't do the normal 4 case break on this one. There's actually not much on YouTube yet compared to WandaVision, Winter Soldier and Falcon, Shang Chi and Eternals. Maybe people got tired of the same generic formula of inserts?

I do think though when Upper Deck gets caught up (the pandemic) and finally all the sets are released, it'll be easier financially handling one new set like 2-3 times a year.
