Default Rittenhouse Cheers Seasons 1 thru 4

Was browsing the Rittenhouse website and saw this one listed for a mid 2024 release.

Could be a great set!

They recently got Kirstie Alley for Trek. They may have had her sign Cheers cards at the same time. I don't think she showed up till season 6 or 7 though.

Wouldn't be much of a set without Ted Danson. Hope they can get all surviving cast!

Pretty certain they will have Kelsey Grammer, George Wendt and John Ratzenberger as they are pretty common on the convention circuit.

Guest star wise, I'd say Tom Berenger, John Cleese, Christopher Lloyd, Kate Mulgrew, Brent Spiner, Sherilyn Fenn, Christopher Macdonald and Corey Feldman. All these are easily attainable.

Whoa, that sounds awesome. Too bad Coach and Kirstie are out. I would love a complete set of all the main cast.

I know this has no bearing on Seinfeld, but would love that as well.

If they didn't get Kirstie to sign before she passed away I can certainly see cut signature cards using her Star Trek autographs. Rittenhouse has done things like that numerous times in the past.

You're absolutely right. Funny thing is that the Star Trek cards sell for let's say $150. They buy 10 of those and make them part of the official set. Those cards will then sell for $1500. That's exactly what happened with all those 258 West Emilia Clarke autographed cards.

Woody has the reputation of being a bit elusive when it comes to signing, so I'm definitely not going to assume he'll be in the set, but I'd like to think they could get Danson along with the majority of the surviving cast, of which there are a great many when you really think about it. This could definitely be an awesome set, I'll be in for many boxes if the auto checklist lives up to the promise.

Rittenhouse said in Philadelphia that they had Ted Danson aboard. Not Shelley Long, yet. Don’t know the prospects of that. I don’t know about this set, never liked the show much when it was on, but I’m no good at predicting hits.

A Frasier/Lilith double auto would make me very happy.

Shelley Long and Rhea Perlman would be good.

I have this Ted Danson from a "Simpsons" guest-stars collection I got, but I'd love to get an actual card signed by him to add to my "Creepshow" set.

I mean, seasons 1-4 IS Danson and Long. If you can't get both, it's not worth it considering Colasanto is dead. I know there are other signers who would be nice gets, like Harrelson and Grammar. But the two most crucial characters are Sam and Diane.

Sounds fun but will it be delayed umpteen times?

I don't disagree, but I think this set will sell on Danson's star power alone. Of course Cheers fans will want both, but casual collectors will probably still buy in for a chance at Danson, and I don't think including Long will increase that likelihood. The set can survive without Long, but for Cheers fans that would be a large hole.

I will say, a Sam and Diane dual would be massive!

That would be amazing. I'd happily replace my Star Trek Grammer auto for that.

Are we thinking traditional boxes or a premium set?

Here's my Kelsey Grammer, which I have as part of my "Simpsons" voice actors collection. (Kelsey is the voice of Bart's longtime nemesis Sideshow Bob.)

Pretty much any card where he's not covered in blue fur would be a nice upgrade.

If he's in the set, I'll gladly trade you a Frasier auto for a Beast auto.

Let's see what happens! I do like that the X-Men one is on-card and was signed around the same time as the famed Inkworks Simpsons cast autograph cards.
If he's on-board, this would be the third thing Kelsey has signed for Rittenhouse, so all on-card. Not bad.

I've got an 8x10 signed by Woody, but no scan of it.
I'll try to get it posted here at some point as an example of what his signature on a card might look like.

I was looking at guest stars from Season 1-4 and the main one would be Dan Hedaya as Nick Tortelli, plus Jean Kasem, Christopher Lloyd, Michael Richards, and Carol Kane.

Markie Post and Harry "The Hat" Anderson, both later of "Night Court" would've been terrific subjects for auto cards.

Inscriptions from Norm and Cliff could be pretty epic, especially if one-of-a-kinds.

There is ZERO chance of Kirstie Alley appearing in this set. Aside from the obvious reason, keep in mind that this covers seasons 1 through 4. Kirstie showed up in season 6.

I know this happened in season eight, plus it's a tad wordy but I would LOVE a John Ratzenberger autograph inscribed "Who are three people who've never been in my kitchen?".

Really looking forward to this set, hope it sells like gangbusters and they finally turn their eyes to Seinfeld.

How early do they normally let you pre-order these sets? I'm a huge Cheers fan and would definitely like to get some of these cards.
