No. Not at all. If he can play, people will sell and buy his cards. He's an adult; he can say what he wants. Some athletes speak out for LGBQT and it's considered ok. Some speak out for Ukraine and that's ok. Why can't he speak out against a justice system that is proven to give minorities, mainly blacks, more prison time than the non-minority? He should stand for what he believes in normally. It's also the American way, popular or not.

99% of people don’t know, or give two craps, about what you are talking about

I only know because of Ohio State and following Stroud for years

So the answer to your post? Not a chance

Laughable

I had zero idea what this was about, so I googled CJ Stroud's dad.

All I could find was him talking about the poor living conditions in his dad's prison, that he thinks there should be reform to at least treat them as humans, and how he hopes someday his dad can come to one of his games.

What a monster.

All the more reason to ask which social media account put this bee in his bonnet.

He doesn't like the jail's conditions. He even says..criminals should serve their time. He's not excusing what his dad did. This was very misleading until I read what it was actually about

What kind of card value did D. Watson attain ? The Texans are not known to be the Mecca of collectibility.

It doesn't matter. At all. If he's that good, his cards will sell. New England once didn't have that great a fan base and interested collectors before Brady.

It’s okay to criticize the government and the Justice system. Having the freedom to do so is a very American thing! It’s an amazing gift we have that we speak our mind and not be thrown into the gulag over it. CJ can speak his mind, and we can agree or disagree with him. I don’t see it hurting his card values unless he goes very extreme in his views.

I'd have more of a problem with him for kneeling for the national anthem, etc
Nothing wrong with wanting to better the prison system conditions, it's not like he's excusing dad's crimes. Let's call it like it is, many NFL players from from areas and families that are no strangers to crime. I don't care what CJ's dad did, I care what CJ does.

I remember I had Cecil the Diesel Collins on my fantasy team when he broke into someone's home and got arrested. As long as CJ's not doing that crap, he should be just fine.

His dad is in prison for sexual assault, kidnapping, carjacking, and aggravated robbery. Whatever his conditions in prison are they aren’t bad enough.

This ^^^

Stroud just turned 22 and has a better head on his shoulders than 95% of all adults.

The OP clearly didn't listen to what he said.

Stroud quotes:

“But I think just letting it be known that it’s not just my dad’s situation, but the whole criminal justice system is corrupt. I’ve been watching videos. In Mississippi, some of the prisons there have rats, roaches and things like that. Don’t get me wrong, criminals, they should do their time, but they’re still humans, know what I mean? I just want to shine a light on that really quick.”

“Don’t get me wrong, you make a mistake and it’s criminal, whatever the case may be, you should do whatever you have to do to pay it back to whatever that means, you know what I mean?” Stroud said. “Whatever crime you commit, you have to reap the consequences for that. At the same time, these are still people. We do this. We send money out to other countries and stuff like that, and Lord knows what they’re doing over there with the money.

“I’m not super political and everything. I respect all walks of life. I have love for everybody and that’s what the Lord asked us to do. So, for me, I’ll just try to do my best to shine light on things that not only personally affect me but affect people that I can see with my own two eyes. I can feel that.”

Troof. His father is a terrible person and I don t care if there’s rats and roaches. Heck NYC has roaches riding on the back of rats all through their subways.

Nothing wrong with what CJ is saying or feeling. He sees someone he loves and wants to help. I won’t look at him any different. Heck of a rookie campaign so far too. Already set 3 nfl records.

Not sure what OP’s being smoking but I’ll take a hit

exactly, I don't see Lebron's value as a player declining because of his views and opinions outside of basketball. Even though a certain segment of society really hate him for them.

Winning creates a much bigger fan base. D. Watson was winning in Houston therefore I utilized how his cards fared in comparison.

The easiest analogy I can give is what if this was your dad?

Things have become so polarized that we often forget we're talking about human beings here. Sure some people deserve to be in jail for life but there is a lot of grey area in the CS system.

(IE) people convicted for murders imprisoned and then years later evidence showing up that they are innocent.
