Default As a seller, have you successfully filed a USPS Ground Advantage claim for damage?

I recently had a buyer initiate a return because the slab arrived cracked. I accepted the return and am waiting for the buyer to return the card.

Obviously, I didn't ship the card with the slab cracked, so it was damaged during shipment. I have heard rumors of USPS being difficult to work with on refunds. If any of you have successfully had a refund request approved by USPS, what did you do that you felt helped? Thanks.

It being returned you will typically be told tge return voided tge original insurance. Usps policies and ebay policies conflict here. Damaged claims are typically very hard to win regardless.

Honestly you are better off taking a quarter or so onto every item you sell and self insure. Or use ship cover they are typically easier to get resolution

Now lost packages are different but they have apparently changed what they accept as value recently

I appreciate the information. If the card isn’t damaged, I can still salvage things as it was an SGC 10 that I can crack and send to PSA.

took me 4 months to get my check finally on a lost item claim. The process is easy, but for whatever reason everything I uploaded for proof was a broken pdf or image or document. I appealed 3 times. Check magically showed up last week finally, then a how'd we do survey.

I work at USPS. They may want to inspect the original packaging used. If it was in a bubble mailer they may reject the claim saying it was not adequately protected. I always ship slabs in a box for this reason.

If you have any USPS questions just let me know.

Welp, I suppose I'll just have to wait and hope the card wasn't damaged. If it wasn't then I'll just crack the case and submit it to PSA as it was shipped in a bubble mailer.
