Not sure on that particular one but you can look up sold listings on Goldin. They've had tons of match used rackets for sale lately from Nadal, Federer, Serena, Djokovic, etc. Also a ton of their match worn memorabilia.

Holy hell this is cool. If it's in fact able to be tied to his 2007 Finals appearance, which he won over Roger Federer as a third title defense... I'd put an estimate of between $75,000-$100,000 on the racquet.

We've seen more recent Championship Nadal racquet's sell for around $70k. But this being an early title defense and an earlier Nadal piece, it could fetch more than recent examples (which weighs into my estimate.)

Thanks for the replies guys. It was photo matched by Resolution to the championship point of the final match, which is the first ever time a Grand Slam championship-point winning racket is auctioned. I did see the one that Sothebys sold last year for 140k, but that wasn't the French Open or the championship point
Really interesting to see how this result will compare

lol... it gets better. Apologies for the huge image, but that's the source.

Buyer was taking a real leap of faith here, IMO.

Also - they're saying it was used in 6 matches in the tournament. Is that plausible? I know Rafa isn't one of those 'I missed two shots in a row, MUST SMASH THE RACKET' guys, but would he really manage to use the same one in 6 matches?

I originally questioned the authenticity based on the limited info shared by OP, but the additional details from the auction and the fact that it came from the Australian tennis museum make it's provenance good.

Nadal would absolutely use the same set of racquets throughout the tournament. New strings every match, or more frequently, but not new racquets.

That's fair, I was looking at the photos and didn't look at the description. Agreed, yes, that provenance is sufficiently reassuring.

Re: longevity, thanks. Obviously they can and do re-string them, but I've never actually thought about how long the frames themselves last (hence the question).
