Default Watch Out Fake PSA Graded Curry Auto Card

My friend recently purchased a PSA graded Curry auto.

I was surprised to find the card is fake and PSA graded the fake card.

I put the BGS and PSA graded ones side by side.

Watch out to these fake cards! I've sent emails to PSA to double check. Will update here with any response from PSA.

%%%%%%%

Update 2/13/2024 1PM EST: I've been contacting PSA (info@psacard.com) for a few times but got no reply. 8 business Days has passed since my first email to PSA.

I contacted PSA before and usually got response in a few business days. Is there anyway to better contact PSA since PSA has deactivate the slab and serial number.

%%%%%%%

Updated 5/15/2024 6PM EST: The certificate of this card was cancelled by PSA, but now is reactivated. Don't know what happened.

PSA never replied to my email. I sent it 4 times.

%%%%%%%

Updated 5/22/2024 7PM EST: The card was sent to PSA for Quality Assurance Request, and the director of grading has confirmed that the card is real and the auto is real.

I added comparisons of Curry left shoulder from 1) PSA 2) BGS 3) 3124508. Clearly PSA graded copy is counterfeit.

Speechless.

So these are completely new, fabricated cards made from scratch with a forged auto and real gold stamping? The colors are definitely different.

Correct. It is fabricated card made from scratch with a forged auto and real gold stamping. The quality of gold stamping is not that good.

Only a matter of time before Guangdong releases their nearly indistinguishable v3 prototypes.

Been saying it for awhile now, but modern's the all-too-easy next target.

Wait......

His "friend" bought the card and he miraculously had a BGS version in his collection.

His "friend" must not like publicity to not post it himself.

If his "friend" had the BGS version then why on earth would he buy a suspected fake when he could clearly see the difference in pics before buying.

Also, this new poster is a supposed genius and just declares one to be fake.

I'm sure his email to PSA will do his "friend" alot of good. One of them could be fake but you or your "friend" are the ones who did this to yourselves. Good for you.

Honestly.

PS I''ll patiently wait for his 3rd ever post. Not.

100% fake but pretty impressive nonetheless. Got through both PSA and PSA/DNA just like seemingly every counterfeit card sent their way does.

Would love to see and feel the stock in person. That’s a damn good fake just viewing it here.

Here's the correct stock texture. Clearly different.

I assume the fake is fairly flat or not as impressed as legitimate CK stock.

AI is going to create a lot of problems for the industry. In-person autos are the biggest concern IMO. Seems that it would not be that difficult to machine learn autos and create an autopen like device that can flawlessly replicate them.

WOW that's scary. I'm putting together a small Curry Auto collection and I easily could have bought that, especially not being too familiar with Court Kings in hand and just assume it looks like a good pack pulled graded auto at first glance. Again WOW

props to SCTV and 3124508 on COMC, if looking at only the fake i'd be fooled, but once compared side by side you can see the differences, but still not easily detectable if you weren't even thinking about it.

Looks like they accidently stamped it to /58 and gouged the foil out in the center of the "8" to make it look like a "0".

Yeah I've been waiting for this to spread to bubble-priced modern myself honestly. A ton of scrutiny in 4-6 figure 90s, but hardly any in modern. I'm sure we will see fake downtowns/kabooms/color blasts in short order.

I am surprised they tried it on court kings of all sets simply due to how hard I imagine it'd be to replicate the texture, but I guess it was enough to fool some dullard at Phoney Signature Authenticator.

99% accurate MJ/Kobe Star Ruby counterfeits in BGS slabs appeared nearly a decade ago.

Modern bass paper/parallels are childs play for these guys. I'm of the firm belief there are and have been both raw and slabbed modern fakes floating around for quite some time now. Just that nobody's taken the time to put a lot of these cards under scrutiny because no previous concerns ever existed.

Many of these individuals have access to the same industrial presses/machinery that the large corporations use. The only limiting factor is how much effort/$$ they want to put into making nearly indistinguishable replicas.

Seems like a real potential logistical nightmare for TPG's. There's already a massive lack of adherence to general grading principles...now these speed graders may also have to go through the process of ensuring the authenticity of a stack of a thousand Slemby Hoops paper rc's.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me at all really. Something like prizm seems really easy to duplicate in the grand scheme of things.

There's such a misplaced amount of trust in these slab factories held by the average Joe Citizen card buyer out there. Only thing I really see them being useful for is general ballpark condition and maybe something like certification date ("this got slabbed a month after release so not a fake"), but ask a random person outside of card forums about grading companies and they treat them as a bullet-proof guarantee.
