I recently sent in a Bob Ross Adley Rutschman Red Parallel out of 5 and it appears PSA damaged a corner. I knew there was one corner that was a little soft and this would most likely get a 9 but the damage to a different corner knocked it down to an 8. When I sent it there hadn’t been any sales of /5 but there was a raw /10 and I think it did $500. I estimated that this was probably $400 on the low end in a 9. Considerably lower now that this is an 8. I’ve started the CRC process but my question is it it worth it to have them review and if they rule in my favor any idea what to expect? Or am I better off just selling it as an 8 and accepting the damage?

I think if it came back like a PSA 5 or 6 because of whatever damage then maybe I'd go after some compensation, however in this case a Red /5 card and a PSA 8, I think you might be better off just accepting it as is - literally just 5 of them around, you may never see another one around.

I just went through the CRC process and was pleased with the outcome. If their investigation concludes that they damaged it, then they'll reimburse you for the loss of value. Of course, the card will be returned to as an 8 (because that's what it is now). For reimbursements, I believe they base it off of declared value if determining market value is not clear.
For my 3 cards: 1. One was reimbursed the full declared value (grade remained the same after CRC). 2. One was downgraded from a 9 to a 6 (due to the now dinged corner). I was reimbursed the difference. 3. One card (a PSA 6) remained a PSA 6 because they said the corner ding didn't affect the grade. It was going to be a 6 (due to a surface flaw) before the corner ding anyways. So no reimbursement in this case. Last edited by SLGSports; 02-06-2024 at 06:22 PM. |

I had five cards damaged in a sports card order and it took about five months to get resolved satisfactorily. They comped the value difference to me next order. There was another order of Pokémon where 19 cards had the same damage pattern. This outcome was less satisfying but not intolerable as they simply refunded the grading fee on those cards by applying it no my next order. I'm guessing I came out $50-100 behind what could have been from that one. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. That one also took around five months.

just curious how long does it usually take for them to reply to one of these?
do I really have to call them out on twitter?
