Any suggestions on where to purchase cardboard boxes for shipping? I need To ship an 800ct storage box full of sports cards and would like to place the 800ct box inside a cardboard box.
Thanks in advance. |

Im sure cardboard shipping boxes can be purchased in bulk on places like amazon. But tbh this is one expense it's usually possible to avoid. For me, there is usually an empty cardboard box sitting around from either prior ebay purchases or amazon purchases.
You could also separate into 2 400ct boxes and just barely squeeze them into a USPS flat rate padded envelope (free), which is among the cheapest of the flat rates, and probably will be as cheap if not cheaper than sending it out as a GA or Priority box by weight. If the condition of the 800-ct box itself is not an issue, I've also had many shipments come to me in just that for a shipping box (inner cards padded adequately), and it's generally fine...no problems.

For what you want if a one off thing just see if you can find a padded flat rate priority and put them in 2 400ct boxes.
You can also often get priority boxes free from your po that may work but could be much more expensive than flat rate. If you want to try GA which could still be more expensive than the padded fr mailer you can go to walmart or dumpster dive |

They will also fit perfectly into an 8x6x4 box and ship for half the price of a medium flat rate. Cubic rates are awesome. Depending on where it is going, you can ship for around $7.

Maybe so but in some cases, but if you have to buy the box it could cost more in the end. Often if you have to buy a box you cannot get it in the size you need like closest you can typically find to an 8x6x4 is as 12x10x6 so using the free priority mailer maybe more cost effective in the end even if it is the higher option. One item I ship to the PNW fits in a padded fr if filled up carefully or into a 12x10x6 box. The box costs 83 cents tge difference is about 75 cents.so into a padded they go. They will, but I'd recommend box within a box for the best chance of not sustaining damage. Walmart and Target sell them for a buck and change. Might even be cheaper than buying an equivalent padded mailer.

Uline is a waste of time. I just ordered a Furniture Truck last night and checked out their prices since shipping was already $130+ I figured I'd get so boxes shipped for free. Needless to say even with free shipping ULine was still more expensive than I have been getting them elsewhere. I can get them cheaper with shipping included from Amazon, Ebay and even Grainger if I buy in bulk.
I am guessing Uline is only good for large companies who negotiate large discounts for large orders. I probably spend $1500+ on boxes alone annually and Uline isn't an option. If you want Priority Mail boxes you can get them shipped to your home free from USPS.com or your local PO. |

Certainly, but it's not gonna provide solid standalone protection for the merchandise. If it gets dropped just right then the buyer is gonna have 800 cards with a bent corner and the seller is gonna be out whatever money. Spend a buck on a box or ship flat rate box.

I was never really aware of cubic pricing before, but just saw a banner in My Ebay that they are now incorporating cubic rates into ebay labels....not sure how new, but seems like it's pretty new. Like if you enter the size and dimensions into the field, it will give you the lesser of the two options- cubic vs non-cubic- for each of ground advantage or priority, automatically. So basically it will only possibly save sellers money, which is good. You dont have to multiply dimensions to get the volume since it's automatically built in with the dimensions you enter. The one thing to keep in mind in finding packages to use is ground advantage cubic goes up to 1 cu ft, and priority cubic goes up to .5 cu ft (not sure how that compares to flat rate priority in terms of size, will have to look into it).
