Default Aroldis Chapman A&G Autograph - No Grade?

What's up guys, does anyone know why PSA wouldn't grade this A&G Aroldis Chapman auto?

Thank you

Was this inside one of the "framed" cards and maybe it was broken out of the frame? There are A&G cards with these "mini" cards framed inside the full size card if that makes sense.

Thank you for the insight. However, I do not know the origin of the Chapman.

Need more info. Did you submit it? Did you get a result from PSA? Was there a code or description? Was it generic and not helpful, like N9 NO GRADE DO NOT HOLDER?

Did you submit it under the dual service (card + auto authentication, with the option to have a number grade for one or both of the card / auto)?

Or did you submit it without auto authentication, so just asking for a card grade?

Good guess that PSA doesn't grade it if removed from the frame.

Found one BGS graded example out of the frame:

Doesn't mention frame or no frame in the description of the card in the pop report, but it's on the label.

I'm no Ginter expert, just adding some data.

Yep, likely not graded because it's not in original pack-released format.

It was just submitted under the January special as a normal grade. I didn’t get it back yet, so I am unsure what the non holder label says, but it should be back this week.

Thank you, it seems like it had a gram at some point.

Thank you for finding that, now it makes sene.. I guess. I don’t know why they still couldn’t just grade the mini.

Thanks everyone

well, because half the card is missing and its now modified from its original factory frame.

honestly ive seen PSA grade framed cards before without their frames, but that's likely because the person submitted it as an incorrect similar auto from that set and PSA's research didn't catch it.

honestly I hate the frame and would want to remove it also.

Yeah, that pic the other guy provided is pretty horrendous. I like the mini card autograph; it's really clean.

Oh well, I just wanted it slabbed.

Thanks everyone

You can send it in for autograph authentication. Or you can buy one of the copies with frame for sale and then send that one in for grading.

Many of the ones they slab with no frame came that way. Most of the year, the only way to get a red auto /10 is that they are found in the rip cards.
