So they will have 85% of the market… that’s nuts! I wonder how much CGC will be able to chip away at that over time?

SGC did great w pricing and turnaround times, things PSA stunk at.
So do we think they’ll use SGCs infastrcuture to improve itself, or just a classic “catch and kill”?

My first reaction, and I could be wrong, is that this is terrible news. I love SGC’s cases and prices and turnaround times. Very curious to see what this means.

Hopefully I can get Sgc rates in a week at the local show. They usually do drop off.

Yeah because they don't do anywhere near the volume.

So what does that mean for sgc service? Will submission prices go up? Will sgc still keep the tuxedos? Will it be business as usual (just purchased on paper only) will then become one big grading company (instead of two) will already graded sgc slabs go down in price now? Should we all start to sell off/dump our sgc slabs now?

That would honestly be the best part for me as I am not a fan of the bulky cheap SGC slabs. I also am not a fan of not having competition though.

Collectors realized submitters were starting to bypass PSA and their relatively high grading fees by going to SGC instead. SGC has been aggressively trying to pump their service in recent years through marketing and promotions. So PSA nipped it in the bud before they started to significantly eat away at their market share by buying them out -- classic behavior by mega corporations.
