Hi all, I’m new here so apologies if I’m simply not seeing the thread but is there a location to post raw cards to get feedback from members on potential PSA grades? I have a flurry of the top gen1 Pokémon cards (Charizard/venasaur/alakazam/ninetales/ etc cards but am having difficulty determining whether it’s better to have them graded or sell raw. I haven’t submitted any Pokémon cards for grading before so I don’t have a great idea how the grade might compare to what I think it deserves. For instance, they haven’t been played before but from storage there’s minor whitening on occasional edges. I can’t tell how that impacts the total grade so was hoping y’all could take a look and provide your insight. Is this the right thread for this?
Thanks so much y’all, Brad |

Grading is ultimately an opinion, so you are asking for opinions on what a companies opinion might be. If you have a LCS that buys and sells graded, or sends in for grading - it might be more helpful to take the cards there for them to give you an idea. It’s hard to look at scans, even good ones, and give an accurate opinion.
That being said you are free to post pics/scans and ask for opinions and insight. The grading section will likely get your more feedback and opinions than this sub. |

Ditto to what Jeremy said. There’s no way to give an accurate opinion from pictures. Take them to a local store.
When grading WOTC cards, always expect to get a grade two grades less than what you think it deserves. They aren’t graded the same as modern. It’s very difficult to get above a 7 on anything that old. Also if you are selling raw, don’t sell to a store. They’ll likely give you half of what they are worth.

That’s great advice, thank you so much! I’m in the pickle where I’m not sure if the cards would sell for more raw than they would if graded (accounting for the shipping and grading cost). I will take your advice and bring some to a LCS to get their opinion but won’t sell to them as you recommended! Thanks y’all!

One of the things I like on this forum is seeing other people’s cards, so I would say post them. But getting good responses on expected grades will be tough. Most times pictures aren’t good enough to give good feedback.
