Default How long do you wait after invoice is sent to cancel the order?

I sold an item on 6Mar24. I have since sent two invoices and attempted to contact the buyer directly. No response to any of my actions.

This is a .99 cent card so not a huge issue. I think I have waited long enough and did everything I should as a seller.

Thoughts?

You waited way more than long enough. If this is eBay, buyer has 4 days to pay and if not, seller can cancel for reason item unpaid. I wait the 4 days then cancel.

4 days, cancel, block & relist, then let the rest of us know the buyers ID so we can also block to avoid him/her.

Why does anyone do this manually. Let eBay do it and move on. I need less things to do in my life, not more.

I ask the same of sellers who send multiple invoices and messages. It's a case of sellers making things more difficult than it has to be

Go to Selling Preferences. Click Edit on the 4th option down "Preferences for items awaiting payment". Turn on "Automatically cancel unpaid items" and set it to 4 days if it's not already. Boom, now you never have to think about this again. Don't send invoices because eBay automatically nags buyers to pay and if you send them more invoices you will just annoy the buyer and make them less likely to pay. If they don't pay after 4 days then it automatically cancels and gives them a non-paying bidder strike.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but when I get to the dropdown (which is defaulted to 30 days) - there is no other option to select less than 30 days. Anyone else seeing this behavior? I have had a massive uptick in non-paying bidders lately and I'd love to have this process happen automatically.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. This is what it looks like on mine.

Thank you for the info.

I followed these steps and it worked like a charm.

I give buyers a week to combine shipping.

I do it manually because I have combined shipping set for a week, so the shortest time frame I can use is 11 days. I get so few non-payers that it's no big deal. Plus this way I can block if I want to.

Thanks for posting the screenshot, it was definitely a user error caused by the default combined shipping preferences. Once I updated that to 3 days from the 30 day default value, the NPB Cancel allowed me to see/select 4 days.
