I figured I would post this here as well, while I am sure most of you know what you are looking for when it comes to a flip stock, I am seeing a lot of confusion this year with Heritage 2024, so I wanted to share the differences in this post so maybe if someone finds this post it will help them, so many people are selling flip stocks on auction sites that are not actual flip stocks because the backs of some base look ever so slightly more shiny than other base cards.
Example 1: Back of a Base Card, yes this does look a bit shiny in the light, but this was a retail base card, some of the retail cards this year acutally appear to be more shiny than the Hobby variants. ![]() Example 2: Back of a Flip Stock Card, this is so shiny I can barely even capture the image without the reflection taking over the image, the back almost even looks wet. ![]() Example 3: Side by side without reflection, you can see the flip stock on the left side is way "darker" and more defined color wise than the base on the right, also the wet look is more apparent in this photo. ![]() Example 4: Fronts, base left, flip right (flip looks like sandpaper on the front) ![]() I really hope the post helps a few people out, I just don't want anyone to get dinged due to confusion. |

I hate flip stocks with a passion - topps could make all our lives easier and just type on back but no...

The card stock 2024 Heritage was printed on is absurd. Most of font on the back is tough to read, especially the fine print at the bottom which is nearly impossible.
They should have made them all like the flip stocks. Backs are super easy to read on those.

Really, really poor job on the backs in this, quite disappointing. The creative work on all those trivia questions was largely wasted.
I do want to buy a flip stock card from this, just one. I guess I hope COMC gets this right, or someone here wants to sell an accurate one. |
