What is a player auction?

Well, a player auction is very similar to a player draft break - except you bid on the spots that you want similar to any auction online. The few differences are: 1. forum posts are used to bid and 2. the bidding deadline is usually not set until the auction has reached (or nearly reached) the break even point.

We understand that player auctions are not for everyone - so please feel free not to join.

For your bids to count, you MUST include the card # and name where applicable. I might not allow a bid without these - especially the last hour.

Bids are in $2.00 minimum increments until the spot reaches $20.00 and then $5.00 minimum increments after $20.00. Once a spot reaches $200, bid increments become $10. Please, whole dollar bids only (no $5.01 bids). Please no +5 bids. (Because someone could bid $100 at the same time and therefore your bid becomes +105?) You can bid more than $2/$5/$10, but that is the minimum.

Any bid made with change ($5.86, $100.99, etc) will be rounded up to the next whole dollar. Please only make whole dollar bids.

There is a minimum bid set for each spot already. Bids are in $2.00, $5.00, or $10.00 minimum increments. You may certainly bid more than the minimum.

Shipping - Shipping is extra, but we will do our best to charge you actual shipping. We will combine shipping based on your final lots as well. A single player on the base checklist is going to have ~70 cards plus ~3 parallels and that will have to go priority. A couple silver pack players could go 1st class for $5.

Supplies - $2 per spot. Supplies are extra. I know this is high for some spots & low for others.

Paypal Fees - $0.50 plus 3.5% for US. $0.50 plus 4.9% international.

Warning - If you pick an auto, you may get nothing. If that player has 10 autos, you get all 10; if that player gets 0 autos, you get 0. Same is true for all other spots.

Sniping - If you wait until the last minute, you may miss out. Fair warning.

Bidding - Please understand that you must include the card # where applicable. Bids without the card # may not count. Please do not edit your post though. If you made a mistake, simply post again with the correction. Please bid in at least the minimum increment ($2.00 or $5.00 once a spot reaches $20.00 or $10.00 once a spot reaches $200). You may not retract your bid unless it is an obvious error (like a $4000 bid instead of $40.00).

Break duration - 2 days
I have other breaks happening at the same time but I will guarantee you an average of at least 3 cases a day. I will start out breaking early in the day and end up doing all night breaks. I have 110 jumbo cases to open.

Shipping time - I expect to ship these within 10 business days (barring any unforeseen issues). I will keep you updated as I go. I will have teams doing all the sorting, packaging, and shipping. We haven't done a break like this of S1 so please be kind and be patient.

Payment - Once bidding is completed, we will send a pm with your total (bids plus shipping/supplies) and instructions.

What comes with each spot?

Jumbo: 6 boxes per case, 10 packs per box, 40 cards per pack. 1 auto per box, 6 autos per case, 60+ autos this break.

Player Lots: You get every card for that spot including all parallels & printing plates. It does not include inserts of any kind. Cards from silver packs are NOT included. Photo variations are included - including variations showing another player - if it is your card number, it is your card. For instance, if you have card 99 Aaron Judge and there is a SSSP photo variation of Babe Ruth for card 99 - that card goes with your spot. [I am expecting about 70 base cards and ~3 parallels each card number in 10 jumbo cases. This not a guarantee. This is napkin math at best.] Expectations are based on pack odds and my math - which neither may be very accurate. NOTE: In recent releases, some base spots have had twice as many base cards as others with no rhyme or reason as to why.

Silver Packs: These cards will be auctioned off just like the base set. 1-100. There are parallels and 88% of the checklist has autos & auto parallels - they all go with the player. Parallels are not noted yet but will probably be purple, green, blue, gold, orange, red & superfractor like always. They all go with the spot.

Insert Lots: You get every parallel and relic/auto (if listed) for your insert lot. Numbers in (xx) are how many cards are in the checklist for that insert set. Not every card has an auto version. Info in red is based on pack odds which can be wrong or missing and my math which can be flawed. Please view pack odds yourself.

1989 Topps All Star Relics (53 names on checklist): Includes all relics and relic parallels. (Any relic with an auto would go to the auto spot below.)

1989 Topps All Star Autos (67 names on checklist): Includes all autos and auto parallels.

1989 Topps Inserts (50 cards in checklist): Includes all inserts and any parallels. (Autos and relics have their own spots.)

Heavy Lumber Inserts & Autos (VERY RARE): Includes all autos and parallels. Only 500 of each made plus autos and parallels.

Home Run Challenge Inserts: We should hit 1 per box (60).

Homefield Advantage & Legendary (RARE): We hit 0 Legendary in 119 cases of S1.

In The Name Relics (VERY RARE): We hit only a few in S1.

Major League Materials Relics (42) & Autos (77): Includes all autos, relics, and parallels.

Platinum Performers (30) (SSP): It just says SSP so idk until the odds are posted. 1 per case is good, but 1 per 67 cases would be bad.

Play Ball Inserts (CJ Stroud) & Autos: Expecting to pull ~6 in 10 Jumbo cases.

Significant Statistics (25) Autos (17): Includes all autos and parallels.

Silver Slugger Maunfactured Relics & Autos: These are whatever.

Topps Reverence Autograph Patch (VERY RARE): Tough pulls but awesome.

Women in Baseball inserts & parallels: Uncommon inserts set with base hitting ~2 or 3 per case.

Unicorn spot: Cuts, Sketch Cards, Social Media Redemptions, Hidden Gems, Signature Tunes Dual Auto (Daddy Yankee & Juan Soto), Dynamic Dual Auto (Wemby & Stroud).

Autos: These will go to the individual sets they are from. If there is an auto in the base checklist (like the ssp autos /5 they used to have), that WILL go to that player if it is numbered like the base checklist. For example, a card #99 Aaron Judge auto /5 would go to card #99 Aaron Judge. There is no such card noted in the checklist but they have existed in the past.

Many insert sets have autographs. The most common autos will be the 1989 Topps insert set with 137 signers.

Relics & Patches: These will go to the individual insert sets they are from. The most relics are from the 1989 Topps Insert set (95) and the Major League Material insert set (79).

Unannounced cards, hits, parallels: If there is an unannounced color parallel, they will go to the player lots - if it is your card number, you get it. If there is a whole insert set, it will be added to the auction. Anything like the pink set redemption cards or player draft day caps will be decided on an individual basis. Remember, you get what you are bidding on only. If you have a question about what is or is not included, ask - blind assumptions will not be honored.

Special Rules for this Break (By joining this break, you agree to these rules!)

1. If you hit a card worth $1000 or more, we will ask you to pay for Express Mail shipping & insurance.

2. As ALWAYS, the host reserves the right to limit who is allowed in the break.

3. If you join this break, you must be willing to pay by the deadline. No echecks are accepted.

4. If you join this break, you must subscribe to this thread. It makes life SO MUCH EASIER.

5. The host DOES have a spot. If this bothers you in any way, please do not join. All breaks are done LIVE and recorded.

6. Once you receive your cards, please post in the thread that your cards were received. For anything outside the USA, we will provide the customs # as proof of delivery.

7. We strongly encourage you to bid what you are willing to pay. That way, if you are outbid at the last minute, it won't matter since you bid what you were willing to pay.

8. International bidders are fine, but International shipping with tracking is expensive and will be included.
