Default NFL QBs and Their Hobby Histories

I know across the forum we've got collectors who have closely followed the careers of just about every starting QB in the league. So I thought it would be interesting to compile their hobby / price histories.

I won't be too much help in this thread since I mostly collect late-round and undrafted weirdos—though I do know that Dak's prices basically went from nothing when he was drafted in 2016 to good money when Romo got hurt in the preseason to insane money when they went on that 13-game win streak his rookie. His prices then fell back to merely good prices and have largely remained there aside from the pandemic pump of 2020.

Write up a paragraph or two summery of anyone you've collected from the start and I'll add it to this post while crediting you.

Allen, Josh

Baget, Tyson

Boyle, Tim

Browning, Jake

Burrow, Joe

Carr, Derek

Cousins, Kirk

Dalton, Andy

Daniels, Jayden

Darnold, Sam

DeVito, Tommy

DiNucci, Ben

Dobbs, Josh

Fields, Justin

Flacco, Joe

Goff, Jared

Herbert, Justin

Howell, Sam
Given the general lack of excitement surrounding the 2022 QB Class and the antipathy most had for anything associated with Dan Snyder, 5th-rounder Howell began on a hobby low note. He was given the reigns in 2023 and interest picked up slightly, but even when he was leading the league in passing yards midway through the season, prices didn't move much and remained firmly behind guys like 2022 1st-rounder Kenny Pickett. When the wheels came off the team in the second half of 2023, Howell's prices dropped too. Now as the backup behind Geno Smith in Seattle, Howell has an opportunity to learn and possibly start in the future for a more competently-run organization that won't have him dropping back to pass 55 times in a row behind the league's worst offensive line. Howell's prices today are slightly above when he was drafted. - TheFrenzy
Hurts, Jalen

Jackson, Lamar

Jones, Daniel

Jones, Mac

Lance, Trey

Lawrence, Trevor

Levis, Will

Lock, Drew

Love, Jordan

Mahomes, Patty

Mariota, Marcus

Maye, Drake

Mayfield, Baker

McCarthy, JJ

Mills, Davis

Minshew, Gardner

Mullens, Nick

Murray, Kyler

Nix, Bo

O'Connell, Aidan

Penix, Michael

Pickett, Kenny

Prescott, Dak
Almost completely overlooked when drafted in the fourth round by the Cowboys in 2016 given the excitement around Tony Romo and the team spending a high draft pick on RB Ezekiel Elliott to make a Super Bowl run. Interest greatly increased when Romo went down in the preseason and then prices exploded as Prescott's led the team on a 13-game win streak and a playoff berth. Aside from the 2020 pandemic pump, Prescott's prices have never approached that late-2016 hype as collectors realize that the Cowboys aren't getting over the playoff hump anytime soon. Given the glamour of being the Cowboys QB, however, Prescott's prices remain comparable to other top non-Super-Bowl-winning veteran QBs. - TheFrenzy
Purdy, Brock

Richardson, Anthony

Ridder, Desmond

Rudolph, Mason

Rodgers, Aaron

Smith, Geno

Stafford, Matthew

Stroud, CJ

Tagovailoa, Tua

Trask, Kyle

Trubisky, Mitchell

Watson, Deshaun

Wentz, Carson

White, Mike

Williams, Caleb

Willis, Malik

Wilson, Russell

Wilson, Zach

Winston, Jameis

Young, Bryce

Zappe, Bailey
