Default For buying at card shows what do you guys prefer Cashapp or Venmo?

I have been stuck using PayPal forever, but I've heard the fees suck for the sellers, and they prefer Venmo or Cash App.

Does anyone have a strong opinion on either of those two options?

Like which has the better iPhone App, which is easier, which has fewer fees for buyers at a card show if I attend one, and which one's accepted more.

Thanks for any input.

Go to the bank, withdraw some money and walk in like a baller.

Fees. Send too much f&f and your account will get flagged.

CASH is the correct answer. Leave your phone in your pocket. I've turned people away for not having cash at my booth.

Cash is preferred / but if you doing some semi serious bowman first buying its not the best idea to ever be walking around with 10k in your pocket

Dealers who only want cash are just trying to avoid paying taxes. Nobody carries cash anymore. Paypal goods and services and I pay the fees. Simple, safe, and provides adequate records for both parties. I might pay cash for cheap cards, but not for serious purchases.

13 comments and 11 say cash. People carry cash to shows. Can also get better deals if buying multiple cards.

Also I believe Chicago had awful wifi and it was slowing down transactions. Bad internet never held up a cash deal

I don't think any of them have fees, and they're also as easy to use as each other.

So? Why would I care whether someone else slips one past the IRS?

Guy wants to buy a card but the ask is a bit strong.

Option One: Tell the seller you'll Venmo him a little bit less if he'll accept.

Option Two: Whip out some benjamins and start counting them out right in front of him, then ask if he'll accept.

Cash on the table will outperform in a situation like that.

People who want to pay more taxes are weird.

Nobody wants to pay more taxes. However, not paying them is a felony that can land you in prison. People who commit felonies to save a couple bucks on a baseball card are weird.

My point was a good dealer accepts all forms of payment. If they turn you away unless you have cash, it's because they are dodging taxes. I prefer Paypal goods and services. I'll happily pay the fees to have buyer protection and a record of the transaction, as well as not having to carry cash. Cash is the absolutely least secure form of payment. Carrying it is unnecessary in 2024. Most large venues are cashless these days anyway. And that is the trend.

Unnecessary does not equal undesirable.
