Default 2024 Topps Chrome Marvel

There is word going around in the EU hobby scene that Topps Europe are preparing for the hobby release of Marvel Chrome, again like Disney they only have the license for Europe as Upper Deck have the US license. Just rumours for now but stay tuned to Topps EU socials for the promotional drop.

That set will do well, if true.

Default 2024 Topps Chrome Marvel (EU Exclusive)

Wow, guess we should have seen this coming, given the Disney.

Let the battle for the marvel market begin I guess, between UD and Topps.

Personally, I’m probably not going to be much into the Chrome Marvel, in that I’m predicting it’ll be: rehashed art, no sketches, and possibly no autos (or facsimile character autos like Disney). No guarantees but that’s my assumption based on the Disney set. What it will have is a bunch of shiny color parallels. In short, it’s the bread and butter of the hype crowd coming in from sports to make a buck off it, like other sets we’ve seen in Sapphire or Disney Chrome. Will have to see how it plays out.

Edit: I suppose if this was MCU marvel, maybe they could attempt to get autos, but Im sensing this is a comic art marvel set. Possibly a mix. Will be interesting to see.

I don't think this will be anywhere near as big a deal as Topps Chrome Disney. TC Disney filled a completely empty shiny chrome void for Disney. Marvel Platinum has already done that for Marvel. And a big part of Marvel Platinum's trajectory was affordable access via retail. After TC Disney, Fanatics will probably be looking for $500 a box.

I think you underestimate what a Topps logo could do for a product. And Marvel cards are infinitely more collected than Disney. This would be huge.

But this is Europe release, from what I have seen international releases don't do anywhere near as well as US releases, maybe that might change, but I would assume most suppliers can't ship to the US for a designated period, similar to how US purchases can't be shipped to international customers for a period after release. I am sure there will be ppl and companies that do it anyway but they would be running the risk of being cut off from supply I assume

It happened with the Disney sets, these will end up in the US. They'll be MORE expensive, but I imagine people will be lining up to jump in even if they have to wait a little bit.

Yeah… it adds a new variable to the recent Marvel glut of products. We (in the US) see UD flooding the Marvel card market with their own Marvel product but in addition to that in todays “global” economy… US collectors also still have relatively easy access to Marvel cards produced outside of the US.

Use a uk reshipper to get them to the USA pretty easy. Also a ton of uk buyers will flood eBay just like Disney chrome. Best time to buy if this is real

The same could be said for Upper Deck if the roles were reversed except that UD has the competitive advantage with the legacy insert sets. Topps does have the superfractor 1/1 and gold refractor thing going though. The art is going to have the most impact. I do believe these will be pumped to the heavens though. Also the last part is a coin toss overall. For cards, sure but Disney collector's buy a lot of other things...a lot.

This is going to be crazy-ly priced coming out the gate since people are probably going to start at where the Disney product is at right now and go up.

Is there a release date yet? I'm visiting Europe this summer.

Also because US buyers will see this as "hard to find" so there will be some level of artificial rarity. As usual, the first to list will see the biggest returns. Unless it's a low-numbered card, just wait.

Frank Miller sketch cards? wow

That aside, this set probably won’t be up my alley, however I have no doubt it will be in super demand. I think the marvel hobby is craving something fresh at this point, and this would be it.

The cynic in me says he probably did like three sketches. The cynic in me also says most people who would open this (simply because of the Chrome name) have no idea who Frank Miller is.

Edit: ok, 30 sketches.

First impressions- superfractors will be nuts, and it’s interesting they got all these real comic book people from marvel into this set. I also have no doubt the sports crowd will be all over this like bees on honey.

So does this mean I can get a Human Torch…Human Torch refractor?

Draw via EQL will only accept a UK address. That sucks
