Arrow Would You Bother Reholdering CSG Graded Cards To CGC or Leave Them As Is?

I bought several CSG graded cards on eBay and knew they merged with CGC, but I am now wondering if I should reholder my cards with CGC or leave them as is?! The cards are for my collection and not of substantial value, I'm just curious what people would do in this situation.

In the situation you described, I'd leave 'em as is. I don't see any significant advantage to reholdering them.

I have slabs from almost every company and different labels from each. I think it is a history lesson in the hobby. Even have some HGA slabs in my PC. Some great stories there!

I used to grade only with BGS, but since CSG/CGC started, I've graded and collected exclusively in their slabs. The only CSG slabs that I've moved to the new CGC slabs are the old green label 9.5s without subgrades. I've kept all my green CSG with subgrades, as well as the black label CSG before they merged into CGC. I'm a collector first, and usually only sell/trade when I have duplicates/upgrades, so I don't approach these decisions from a resale standpoint.

Old 9.5 without subs or min-gem subs, I'd reholder if keeping. Otherwise, not worth the cost I think.

If selling, do your research, but prices might not be that different. I don't know. I also doubt that higher subs are going to matter on gem 9.5 (aka true gem plus with a couple of 10s might not make much difference given the lack of interest in the CGCSCGSCSG holders)

For PC stuff, I would reholder CSG green labels on cards where $10 isn't a material change to how much the card cost. And I would agree that the subgrades don't matter on anything except a perfect 10. I've kept a handful of blue slab CGC Pokemon cards, mostly ones that are true gem+ 9.5s and that are in matching sets.

I like the history lesson idea, it makes me want to keep'em in the csg slabs.

I just received some of the cards I ordered with CGC slabs, I gotta be honest, I love the holders, even more so than PSA and SGC! I just recently got back into the hobby and I am trying to diversify a little, I know PSA is more sought-after for graded cards, but I like other holders and I know the values can be quite different, but to as a bit of the speculator, I look at it like buying the dip.

I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. I agree, if the grades were any less than 10s I wouldn't change anything unless they were vintage or I thought a certain card was under-graded.
