Default Topps Box/Case Wrapper Redemption Details?

Has anyone heard or seen anything from Topps about a wrapper redemption program for this year? It was great last year, but I don't remember how far in advance they announced the details.....

Is it unusual that this info still wouldn't be out, or about normal?

I also wonder if the Fanatics Fest element may impact what they do at the National?

Topps is doing the usual redemptions. For baseball there are certain products which can be bought anywhere (no stickers required). There will also be Star Wars, Soccer and Football redemptions. Each of those products will have to be bought from the big 3 dealers who will have stickers for the products.

The details on these redemptions get fewer and fewer and later and later every year. Before long we wont know until the day of the show what kind of redemptions are going on.

I appreciate the response. Can I ask, where did you get the information above? Is that posted somewhere or just something that was communicated to your or someone else?

Thanks again

Communicated by someone in the know. Reliable source. I don't know what the benefit of holding out on everyone is, but I guess that's the way they want to do it. I much prefer to budget ahead of the show and know which products I will be spending my money on.

Wonder if we see a 100 card checklist for baseball this year for the Topps redemption program.

Hearing rumblings that baseball redemption packs will only be for the following:

Series 1 (hobby/jumbo)
Series 2 (hobby/jumbo)
Heritage
Bowman (hobby/jumbo)

No Topps Chrome, Archives Signature Series, Tier One, or Museum.

I really hope that is WRONG.

why?

you want to blow $400 on a chrome jumbo for nothing inside?
sad as it sounds, flagship paper actually gave some return

this new chrome release is trash. esp when all the breakers and influencers are acknowledging it

Why what? Topps Chrome hobby boxes are $200 and silver packs sell for a good amount during and after the show. My $2400 hobby case then turns into a $1680 hobby case (if I sell the packs for $60 each) and it makes it much less risky.

I know of a lot of people that like to do Archives Signature Series as well.

I open Heritage too, but was looking forward to ripping some TC. Won’t be opening or buying any if silver packs aren’t involved.

also expect the sellers of the redemption products to jack the prices to the moon for those in attendance at the show. Wouldnt surprise me if a Flagship Hobby Box is 200 bucks to build in the cost of the Redemption Pack ... so this is a losing proposition

Bought a 2023 series 2 flagship box last year for I think $80 (maybe $90, can't remember). Stood in line for 30 minutes and got a silver pack. Went home and sold it on eBay for $75. Pulled a Corbin Carroll jersey /50 from the box and sold it for $50. I was already up $45 and still have the rest of the box contents!

Im not going to, im a buc collecter. last year they included some guys that didn't have cards. Will they have BUC packs? BUC hobby boxes go for close to 400, and bowman best u as well. not very much product to off load of this year, like bowman best last year.

From what I have heard it'll be older product offered to acquire those packs, not the 23/24 stuff

yeeeeeah ive seen nothing but speculation all across the board

some say you can bring 2024 topps series 1/2, without purchasing them at the show from a vendor, other say opposite.

Seems to me that if only the above products can be used for the wrapper redemption that there will be a lot of leftover packs. Especially if vendors rise prices at the show for the required products. Topps could change midway through the show.

with how horrible topps chrome has been going over, you would think they would include it as well.

but if it all needs a sticker from a vendor at the show, thats whack as hell

Why some would risk traveling with/shipping in product, lugging it around the show, and waiting an hour in line to risk being told they can’t take it due to no receipt from in show dealer is beyond me. So much easier to just buy there and support the dealers making the effort and save on the hassle.

After last years flood of people bringing in massive amounts of cheaper product to redeem and clogging up that line, I for one am glad they limited the list of products and hope they enforce the receipt policy to limit to show purchases this year

Because dealers mark up the product to capture the value from the redemption packs? If dealers at the show we’re charging the same prices on the wax that it could be purchased for outside the show then no one would bother, but when you add $50-$75 to a $180-$225 people are really incentivized to find a way around it.

I have no idea why you would be glad they limited the list of products…

Less options is horrible and not fun…haha. If you are concerned about outside product coming in, they could go back to stickers.

hmm. thats why i would find out first. i also get discounts on hobby/jumbo series1/2. yeah id rather pay $80 for a hobby box at home, and be able to bring it with a bunch of other stuff. than pay over 50-75% more, to support the ‘dealers’ aka sodomizers who overcharge as it is…….? ok buddy.

you should be focused on the jabronis coming with CASES. rather than little guys bringing a few boxes.

oh. and how do all those dealers get all their national packs i wonder? they probably get a deal and given them as well. the rich and the grimey get richer in this hobby

Game to be played on both sides. If product can be brought in, lots of outside cases from better deals make their way to the redemption area. If only product from the show, vendors can name their price. Either way, collector's wind up paying a price either monetarily or by waiting in long lines. Not sure there is a best solution to handling the wrapper redemption.

It will be product bought from the show only, they aren't going to let guys roll in pallets of cases and yes someone would literally try to do that. If they do it like the All Star Game, Topps/Panini etc. will use a box cutter to physically open your box or case with a representative and/or check the voucher, receipt before giving you the redemption packs.

The problem will be expect a huge mark up as we've been discussing for weeks now on the sku's that qualify from the dealers on the floor.

you will not be getting FREE redemption packs you'll in fact be paying huge premiums for them. (to the dealers), one of which will be our gracious host of this forum marking up skus.

the smart play would be to stay home and buy singles on eBay or FB but that's no fun I'll see you guys there.
