That is the greatest catch I've ever seen. Game saver too!

Incredible catch, but man the White Sox are the definition of literally nothing going right this season.

Gary Matthews Jr's catch in 2006 is still my pick. I think it propelled him to an (undeserving) ASG selection and a 5-year deal from the Angels lol

Not you. 100% agree.

The one catch I watched live I'll always laud is when DeWayne Wise saves Mark Buehrle's perfect game, covered so much ground and went over the wall ...

Also, the Japanese league spiderman catch is a fave ....

Jankowski's is like a blend of the two. Fantastic.

I think Endy Chavez's catch in Game 7 of the NLCS would be talked about a lot more if the Mets had won the game.

Jankowski's catch tonight reminded me of that one, but he did get up higher than Endy.

Of ALL time? Let's pump the brakes.

That's not even in the top 50 greatest catches. I've seen better ones

It’s a top-shelf catch, but I don’t about the best.

Gary Matthews Jr
Kevin Mitchell
DeWayne Wise

Jonathan Davis and Cedric Mullins have both made diving catches recently that are basically the baseball equivalent of Odell Beckham’s best work. Jim Edmonds had a couple of those, too, including an over-the-shoulder dive that practically made the Willie Mays catch look routine.

The Edmonds one always comes to mind, I forgot about Wise’s and that was extra special in the 9th inning to keep Buerhle’s perfect game intact

The toughest catches of all are when teammates are going 20 miles an hour and collide without breaking a stride and the fielder holds onto the catch. I’ve seen 2 Tigers outfielders collide going all out and I know one of them was out injured for quite some time. I’ll say 6-8 years ago. I’ve seen others do it as well, those are the catches I believe are toughest.

Look at MLB Worst Outfield Collisions, they receive my vote for all those that held on.

Otis Nixon walking up the wall vertical one of the best modern day catches IMO

Trout’s 2016 Topps image came from this catch: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SLmBwF...YnMgd2FsbCA%3D

Griffey has so many, hard to choose. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qOLzRr...bCBjYXRjaCA%3D

Renfroe's no look catch last year deserves a mention.

There have been more clutch/athletic/inspiring/ catches for sure, but this one was just bananas.

I always thought you could tie it but I dont know how you can ever beat Edmonds. Its blasphemy to say but its way better then Mays catch was.

“Epic” smh…if it was made in the World Series maybe or to preserve a perfect game (looking at you Mr Wise). Great catch indeed but not even close to any Top catch list, honorable mention as they go into commercials. Just as good as every other robbing a homerun catch. Judge made one the other day, someone makes one every other night.

2 plays come to my mind for best ever- the Jim Edmonds catch (already mentioned), and Ozzie Smith’s play in 1978- dude was already in mid-dive when the ball took a bad hop and he caught it with his bare hand. There are some better videos of it on Google, but this is a nice write up

Excellent catch. Clutch moment in the game. But HR robberies are (I don't want to say dime a dozen) but kinda a dime a dozen; especially over short(er) walls. Still amazing. Pillar's catch climbing that massive wall in Toronto was an example of one better.

However, this is easily the greatest catch I've ever seen
