New Brighton Lions (2-1) facing off against Freedom Area Bulldogs (1-0-1) at 7 PM. May be a tough game, Lions are ranked 474 in the state vs the Bulldogs 415. Steve Oravets will be reporting on the Lions today.

New Brighton Lions (3-1) facing off against Riverside Panthers (2-2) on Friday at 7 PM. This is a conference game so extra important that these Lions pull off a win. According to state rankings, the Panthers are 399 whereas the Lions are 433. However they did jump 41 places in the state rankings thanks to last week's win, this may be the time for them to crack the 300s.

Unfortunately our Lions took a couple losses over the last week and a half, falling to Riverside and Ellwood City by a combined 53-13. The season record stands at 3-3 and 1-2 in conference play.

Next up is the Mohawk Area Warriors (3-2). Here's hoping for a get right game and move the record to above .500. #LionUp

Unfortunately our Lions fell to the Mohawk Area Warriors 19-35. By the end of the 3rd quarter it was 28-7 and the game pretty much wrapped up. Warriors RB Cash Stratton (So) picked up 2 touchdowns and 94 yards on 13 carries while WR Blake Logan (Sr) paced the Warriors aerial attack with 5 catches for 109 yards. The Lions committed a Chuck Woolery two and two for turnovers, putting 2 balls on the ground and another 2 picked off.

This drops New Brighton to 3-4 on the season and 1-3 in the conference. Next up is an away game against the Beaver Falls Tigers. Let's finish the season strong Lions fans. Get out there and show your support #LionUp!

Folks, we got the W! Yesterday New Brighton (4-4) defeated Beaver Falls (0-8) 34-22. The Lions roared out to a 20-0 lead at halftime. Despite a valiant effort by the Tigers putting up 14 points in the 3rd quarter, our boys put the game away.

The Lions conference record improved to 2-3 and is ranked 6th in WPIAL AA Midwestern conference. Next week they take on the Western Beaver Golden Beavers (5-2) in front of a home crowd before traveling to New Castle to square off against the Union Area Scotties (2-5).

Never easy to report on losses but our New Brighton Lions got torched by the Western Beaver Golden Beavers to the tune of 53-13.

It drops them to 4-5 on the season with one game to go against the scuffling Union Area Scotties (2-6).

Hopefully the Lions can win next week and end play with a .500 record. Interestingly enough, the team is playing better on away games, marshaling a 3-2 record vs a 1-3 result in friendly territory. They travel to Union Area which hopefully means a win is in the offing.

Sadly the Lions lost again and finish the season with a 4-6 record. Union Area scored 36 points with New Brighton only mustering 8. They rank 443th in the state and 67th in their division. Be proud of this pride and let's make 2025 one for the ages!
