Is 5000 packs too many or too few? I’m leaning towards too many but really have no idea.

It’s interesting to see they are releasing this at same time they are winding down the Marvel license with a glut of Marvel releases. There are also 3 different versions of Marvel Pack Wars going on right now … Platinum, Annual, and Beginnings. So a lot of competition for collectors dollars not even factoring in what will likely be a pretty busy Black Friday with mass discounts. |

It also looks like the base set will just end up being various Batman cover images over the last 85 years… like Detective 27, Batman 251, and Dark Knight 1. In general those types of cover sets aren’t chased as much as a normal character base set would have been. The character cards appear to be the weekly achievement cards and the overall Batman character card achievement. It will be interesting to see if the achievement cards have plates inserted into packs… those would probably be the best hits.

Most likely will be cheaper in long run. Packs will probably be like $6.99 … so about $70 to make a Catwoman if you don’t get a 2 base pack when trying to get all 10 base. This is a weird set as the achievements really aren’t big dollar hits (like sketches or doubloon relics) that people would pay big money for. Maybe some people will plate chases but I would say most of those would top out at $80ish.

Two comic property have historically duked it out for the #1 spot of best selling IP.. Those are Spider-man and Batman. It will sell out.

Bought 5. Got a Dark Knight Returns parallel! Neat!
Needed 3 more base cards so I bought 2 more packs. Got two more I needed. Now I just need to trade for card 3 to complete my set. Not too painful! NEWB QUESTION! Never done an achievement before. If I use by 10 card base set for the Catwoman, I don't lose the physical cards right? I just can't use them for future achievements? |

I agree it’s a pretty barebones design that UD cobbled together quickly. Here are the front and backs of the base and base (1:85) variations… pretty lazy!

Must have sold out! Don't see it in the store anymore. I think the cards are nice and suit the character. Rather that than loud obnoxious cards. Half the card could have said COMIC COVERS!!! with nonsense everywhere like their Marvel junk. I'll take minimalist.

I also love minimalistic designs but the wide border is not minimalistic… it crowds out the already existing small real estate on the card.

I did 5 packs and had some trade assist to net the Cat, Adam Hughes fan as many are. Will play it week to week, dont feel the need to get them all for the Batman by any stretch. See how cheap they get on the market, probably a $5 card

Did 5 packs for the set, needed only 2 trades for the Catwoman. Hit two 85 cards (Batman #1, Batman #405). Holding the Catwoman for something delicious at a later time

Shocked this sold out...5,000 packs with lame achievements and a 1:500 chance of hitting a plate.
If you just want the base sets...they'll eventually be 2 cents a card plus 25 cents shipping on COMC. |

Okay week 1 I was a happy camper. This week not so much, So many beautiful posters to choose from and they seemingly do a generic bat logo for each one? This was the week I was looking forward to most and it's likely to be the ugliest. Lame. I was all in but now I'm questioning whether or not it's worth completing the set anymore. Might call it quits. Take my Catwoman and go home.
