Default New to collecting!

hey just wanted to introduce myself. i have been collecting for about 8 months now. I kinda' stumbled on the hobby by accident. I was browsing a local collector's shop for some yugi-oh cards for a gift, and was curious as to why cards were so expensive. the guy (thanks steve from Guam)convinced me to try something out. I bought a pack of 05/06 ud trilogy and pulled a 9/25 jordan/james duo signature card and have been hooked on collecting since.

although it is not as popular or lucrative as other sports i only collect basketball.

Wish I could say my start was as good as your's, but my collecting started with a rather simple auto.

Welcome to the hobby and hope you do well!! Good luck breaking!!

That's a great start. All I had were the Stan Musial puzzle pieces from donruss! Still not sure if I every actually put one together or not.

Welcome anyways!

thanks for the posts!

i got a coworker into the hobby too! he saw the jordan/james card and thought he'd like to try his hand at the "on average" hobby! (i just broke a depressing box of 08/09 hot prospects and it was definitely not "on average")

Very sweet looking card. Best BB card I've got is a Durant RC Auto
