Default Someone explain to me how the crackpots at Heritage Auctions and Mike Baker…

…have failed to identify that they are selling a counterfeit 1986 Fleer Jordan in a PSA 10 slab.

Yes I assume so seeing as there is an authentic copy with the same PSA cert # out there.

Also with Heritage, they've had some very questionable (heavily shilled) auctions for some Exquisites. There was a 2003 Exquisite Michael Jordan Patch Auto /100 PSA 9 that sold for over $200k last month... lol... There was someone in the FB groups that couldnt sell a BGS 9.5 version (auto was solid blue too) at around $85k....

So what is the consensus actual price for a nice patch 2003 Exquisite Michael Jordan Patch Auto /100 in the BGS 8.5 to PSA 9 range? I am sure there are a fair few exquisite collectors for whom the slab brand is of minimal importance.

Auction is still active, but PSA has flagged the cert.

The best part is that Heritage should’ve been on notice since they had the exact same thing happen six months ago: https://forums.collectors.com/discus...ent-psa-holder

Just checked the BST section and it was a different one compared to the FB post. FB post also had a nice 3 color patch and auto was solid blue.

They could have done a 1-minute google search of the Cert to find the completed auction I linked and other photos. I’m not sure they even spend a minute reviewing the actual slabs they are auctioning.

Price has gone up over $10,000 since posting. I don’t think bidders are either.

Surely they're not going to leave this up? Anybody e-mailed them?

I'm aware of a multiple attempts, to inform Heritage.
Not a good look leaving the item up, but there's plenty of time before the auction ends. Kinda fun to see how high it goes, before getting pulled.

Like 312 mentioned above, several bids have come in, even after the cert (linked in the Heritage listed) was flagged. Shows the influence of the label and how little some buyers research items.

Crazy isn't it? Granted it's a smaller scale, but I've been buying singles on Whatnot lately and it's incredible seeing zero research in action. So many people now are guilty of it. Reading the live chat is sometimes better than watching a tv show.

Yeah, just coming to post that. Sports Collectors Daily posted (now edited) a Jordan article with this listing, among the highlighted items at Heritage. Maybe the hobby news, catching wind was enough to pull the listing?
Last I saw, it was up to $134,200

Maybe now Heritage can work on taking down the counterfeit 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan RC that they’re selling as the real deal. Someone looked at it long enough to deem it trimmed, but apparently not long enough to realize it’s just a straight up counterfeit.
