hens: about 6 months to start laying eggs regularly
meat chicken: ready 6-12 weeks from hatch

Watch the Morgan Spurlock documentary on chicken farming.

Might not want to eat chicken after but it’s an interesting watch.

He ate McDonalds for 30 days straight and then died 20 years later. It's a pretty big stretch to find an correlation. That guy that's been eating a Big Mac every day since 1972 is still going strong at 70 years old.
