So I go to meet an older couple to buy some Disney plush off them and we start talking. They tried to sell me some beanie babies and I said I wasn’t interested, however I could see them one day making a come back similar to sports cards. When I said that the older gentlemen said oh you collect cards well come in this room. It was about 20k cards in binders basically untouched from the 90s. Basically everything was booked other than two Jordan’s. Here is what I’ve found so far.

That first image reminds me of stuff I bought during the pandemic in Cebu (some people haunted the bars, I haunted the collecting groups). Once people heard I was paying actual money for cards the Jordan (and to be honest Pippen and Grant Hill) binders came out. Unfortunately the really nice stuff was nowhere to be found. A Jordan Vortex in like a PSA 7 was the best find. Only got fleeced once, on the inevitable Star faker.
Silver lining was perhaps the silver foil TSC and Fleer Kobe rookies—which turned out to be fool's gold, cause no one was interested. (If you come across either of those I am a buy at $500 a pop, never mind the condition). Last edited by Nomad; 03-12-2025 at 12:42 PM. |
