Do arty crossover sets count as nonsports pickups? I picked up some Topps Project cards that were once popular during COVID…

And these ones below def fit better as nonsports…

What set is that Thing from? That’s a neat one. Also digging the FF #5 plate. Fantastic Four for the win!

Gotcha- the lack of design elements threw me off. I guess because the black plate. Huh interesting

Bob Larkin's work always looks epic, like it was made for a movie-poster. That was a great story arc, too.

Good stuff!

Picked up this John Czop sketch recently to add to my 98MCC stash. Interestingly, he was one of the few artists to utilize a bit of color in those early sketchagraphs.

Nice. it uses the design of 1961 Fleer Baseball Greats, which is great because that drawing of The Thing is from right around then.
Here's a few of the originals I have.

I just got this back today. It was a 25 year project because after getting Prowse on it in 1999 I never bothered to add Daniels until last year. I decided to drop it off to CGC at Megacon in February and this is the result. I was told that if OP hadn’t put the authentication sticker on the back then it would have received an 8.5 so that was a learning experience. Still happy with the grade on a nearly 50 year old magazine. Really though, encapsulating was more about future preservation than current condition.

Cool Star Wars magazine!

I’ve been continuing my deep dive of COMC crossover sports/nonsports cards and picked up this cool Bob Ross (nonsports) / Aaron Judge (sports) slab… I wish I would have bought a box or two of this…

And I think the Thing should totally be more popular than he is in the hobby. He’s a great subject for sketch cards and just a fun character. Hopefully this year’s FF movie is good and helps him regain some of his popularity. He should easily be a Top 25 Marvel character.

While quite random concept…that is a visually stunning card. Makes me want to look into the set.

I co-sign this! One of my fav characters growing up. I read FF a ton and Thing was always the most entertaining and funny character, with some deeper themes lurking there too. Heck Hulk, while a similar type of character, gets much more hobby love on the character tier spectrum than Thing. One thing that may have affected things also is FF for the longest time during the UD era being banned. So character collectors might have been discouraged from either bothering with Thing.

One of my recent comc buys (nothing big…but Thing is awesome). Clobberin time!

Hopefully the new FF movie doesn’t screw up the Thing. I’m not sure why it’s easier for CGI to make a cool Hulk but struggle to make a cool Thing.

Thanks for posting this... I have a ungraded signed comic by Stan Lee that has a certification sticker and I was wondering how bad it would hurt the grade

I got several cards today, but this one stood out to me. Just a parallel. Not numbered, signed, autographed...you get the point. But, man, one of the nicest cards I have ever seen in hand. Regular scanner and regular photos don't do it justice, so I used the app on the Galaxy to take this, which shows it pretty well. No idea how SP'ed the parallel is(10 sold, 4 listed on COMC, plus ePack)...but awful tempting to go out and pick up anyone else I'd like to hold/display.
