Default Brett Favre Documentary

Is this a hit piece or is he that much of a trash human being?

I haven't watched it, but he's had some major douchebag moments over the past decade. Cheating on his wife while she was going through Chemo. Sending unsolicited junk pics to that reporter. Knowingly taking money from funds meant to go to the poor in Mississippi to get a facility for the college his daughter was attending. He used to be an inspiration after he fought off his addiction demons and cleaned up his act... Now not so much.

Favre was a hero of mine growing up. He was god in Wisconsin.

But eventually the truth comes out - he's trash.

The lesson: Don't get too attached.

I've never paid much attention to off the field stuff, but man did he come across as an absolute horror of a person.

Growing up near Milwaukee, you'd hear stories about Favre being at bars and effectively telling girls they could have the opportunity to "pleasure him" in the bathroom if they wanted. Eventually I'd hear it from people I knew and trusted that witnessed similar behavior first hand. He's a serial cheater for sure, and clearly capable of theft and deception. Heckuva football player, awful human being.

People need to stop holding these guys up to pedestals just because they can play sports well. Usually money and fame create bad people. Some people are bad before they even get all that. Media, even sports, will always show the one side of a player they want to based on what he does for them.

Doesn't surprise me about Favre. But then again, I wouldn't be shocked if any sports player did things. At the very least they feel above "regular" people for the money and attention they receive, that feeds into certain behavior. Not all of them. But most.

It's funny, a guy like Rodgers is hated across the board and he's done none of what Favre is accused of. And to bring this together, I could first tell Favre wasn't a great guy, based on how he handled Rodgers coming in.

I mean I'm not shocked by "Netflix and Front Office Sports said Favre declined to be interviewed for the documentary."

Personally I'd be shocked if 20 years from now we don't discover that Aaron Rodgers had several skeletons of his own inside his closet. He's always come across as creepy to me.

I read into some of the details on that case and it comes off more as Corrupt Politicians Take Advantage of Brain Damaged Former Football Player.

It's a little like all the Kobe lovers that hate LeBron.

To be fair though, Rodgers (and LeBron) both come off as narcissistic.

What connection would Vick even have to Favre? The Falcons beat the Packers in the playoffs once? But yeah the media loves them some Vick now for some reason, remember his 30 for 30 fluff piece?

I will say, if Vick cleaned up his act and learned from the mistakes he made, then I would say he's an example of being able to improve oneself after being convicted of a pretty bad crime. Prison is meant to rehabilitate the criminal, and if he was able to make it through and come out a better person in the end, isn't that why we sent him to prison in the first place? Favre hasn't learned really much of anything from his very public mistakes, and doesn't seem to care that he's a low life, so it's a strong counter point.

Not really sure how any professional athlete has any skeletons in their closets these days with social media and phones in their faces 24/7.

He's been pretty open about his "craziness", his hyawaska "trips", his issues with his family and issues with his ex love interests...

Knowingly giving women herpes and what he did to dogs aren’t “mistakes”. They’re the acts of an evil person. He isn’t deserving of ESPN fluff pieces or cushy commentating jobs. Here’s in detail what he did to dogs by the way:

“I’m all for second chances but everytime I see Vick’s smiling mug on TV I get sick. He literally killed and tortured dogs via electrocution, drowning, and body slamming them onto concrete. He would pull female dogs teeth out with pliers when they were deemed too old to fight but would still be useful for breeding purposes, this way they couldn’t defend themselves from the aggressive male attempting to fornicate with them. He would adopt mutts from animal shelters duct tape their mouth shut so they couldn’t defend themselves then let his prized fighting dogs “practice” on them.

Then he wants to boohoo about his kids not being able to have a dog while they’re growing up. Get bent Ron Mexico.”

I think you have mistake and accident mixed up. The literal definition of mistake is "an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong.". What Vick did was wrong, and was an action, so it qualifies as mistake. Now, whether he has learned from them or not is the important piece, and it will be difficult to ever know if that truly is the case or not. I'm not saying you need to let him dogsit for you or anything, but he did his time, and seems to have cleaned up his act, is there really anything else you can hope for or expect in that type of thing?

Vick didnt deserve a 2nd chance and should still be sitting in jail or worse. He lucky that he had money and someone didnt do to him what he did to dogs. Only a sick person does what he did and tries to use the excuse of what i grew up with.

He was doing this in Atlanta at strip clubs and night clubs in Buckhead from what I have read.

This douche bag behavior is quite common on football players...
