Default What am I not getting?

Saw this card for sale. I am a huge Jeter collector but was thrown off by the letter in the patch. I went through his whole name and then through the New York name and can only think that the letter is the “R” from Jeter or New York but that it is upside down. This is just laziness on Topps’ part for not orienting the letter correctly.
Even though the card is an amazing card I would not want this card because it would always annoy me when I looked at it. Do you you think this is that big of a deal or is it just me wanting Topps to do a better job at what they do?

I'll one up you. How about a patch with an auto on it but the auto is upside down.

Strangely, it doesn't bother me. I kind of like it.

As someone that works in mass volume consumer goods (golf balls), I can only assume that Topps/Fanatics handles production in a similar fashion.

Outsource a majority of the process and any/all QC is likely handled by contractors who verify the card is correct by a mock/drafted drawing before final packaging. I would wage that likely 3/4 of the folks assembling/packing these have never heard of the players they're handling.

Still a nice looking patch no matter how you look at it.

I mean does it have to be game used patch from Jeter or just game used patch?

Once it is chopped up it is like a bunch of puzzle pieces. You don't worry about orienting all those pieces before you start to put it together.

I think the thing that amazes me the most is that you say that you're a huge Jeter collector and that you have attention to detail to notice the R is upside down but then you also state it could possibly be from the R in Jeter. What Yankee uniform has Jeter ever worn that his name was on the back? Someone may know of some one off uni's I'm unaware of but never the traditional road grey I know about.

That being said the letter patch wouldn't bother me but when they get upside down logo's and things like that it does bother me.

Could be from the “NEW YORK” on the front of a road gray jersey.

From a Fanatics Chinese sweatshop jersey. The patch probably fell off.

I know it's from the "R" in New York. You missed the point. He said it could be from Jeter on the back. Jeter has never had his name on the back of a Yankee uniform I know of. I was surprised him being a big Jeter collector he didn't know that.

Read that sentence slowly and then tell me if it means what you think it means.

Yeah, that’s not a patch from any Yankee name.

You are correct. I think that was an oversight on my part. Does not make me less of a Jeter collector. If that is what amazes you most about my post, you may need to reassess things.

Sorry, didn't me to offend you. I never said one thing about how dedicated a Jeter collector you were. You have my heartfelt apologies.

P. S. I took the reassessment of myself that you recommended (thank you, by the way) and still came to the absolute amazement a Yankee fan thought there were names on the back of their jerseys especially one being a hardcore Jeter collector.

To be fair he never said he was a Yankee fan.

I did my part in buying a Jeter card today, as painful as it was.
