Default RIP Dave Parker

Just heard of his passing, glad he got to enjoy being enshrined in the HOF before he passed.

He was one of the first players who watched at the end of his career (loved watching him with the A’s!) and retroactively learned about how great he was.

RIP, legend.

I just saw this and this was the first thing I thought. I wish Dick Allen had gotten into the HOF earlier. RIP Cobra.

God Bless Dave Parker. Anyone who saw him play knows he was the classic “feared” hitter. Opposing teams never wanted The Cobra coming to the plate when the game was on the line. Sad we won’t see him on the stage next month. But he knows we all loved him.

Sad… one of my favorite non-Orioles growing up.

EDIT: I picked up these two off of COMC a couple years ago…

That 79 Bucs team is the first I remember as a kid watching the series vs the Orioles. What a fun team to watch. Parker, Stargell, Madlock, Lee Lacy, Easler, Omar Moreno?, Candyman Teculve, Blyleven and Rhoden.

RIP Cobra.

I got to draw him for Topps Museum Collection a few years ago.

Ditto.

He played mostly before my time, but he's an iconic player who is remembered fondly by those who watched him.

Oops. Adding a ton of photos in Tapatalk can be tough sometimes. Here it is.

As a kid I always thought his 1974 rookie card was undervalued at $20 in the Beckett compared to some of his contemporaries.

Ugh...what a bummer to hear. I was a fan of his as a kid even though he never played for a team I liked. RIP Cobra.
