Default James Bond Premium Silver 'cards'

Not sure if this is the right forum for it, but what the hell..

I have a number of these 2oz Silver cards that's I've cobbled together over the years, and I've kept them all in their original plastic case (still sealed from Upper Deck) and stored in my safe.

Some of them have started to tarnish, which is to be expected I guess after half a decade as the cases clearly aren't air tight, and some haven't.

Personally I don't mind the tarnish, but it will get worse with time.

What's everyone's personal opinion on maintenance? Generally, if I get a card sealed in a case, it stays in the case and I will never open it or break the seal.

Would I be committing an unforgivable sin breaking the sticker seal and giving these a light polish?

What do you say?

I've included a picture (not my card) to show you what I mean.

It's happening to the 2017 Hockey coins as well. I think resale value will be more if it's tarnished but still in the original sealed packaging, but it you want to present them and want to polish them for display, that works.

I would not break them out of the case. The tarnish adds to the character of the card.

Well, if collectors treat them like coins, removing the tarnish removes the collectible value and makes them basically worth the spot price of silver. I'd leave them sealed unless it really bothers you and you don't plan on ever selling them.

People collect silver art bars, and they are typically worth more with the tarnish and toning in place rather than polished up. Polishing coins and art bars is considered damaging them.

That reminds me of the 1996 Leaf Preferred Steel cards that Leaf released in Baseball.

I have about a dozen of the rarer gold steel cards and a few are actually rusting.

This Alomar has started in the upper left.

Definitely leave the Bond card sealed!

Under no circumstances should you attempt to clean it yourself. I'd leave it alone, but there are professional coin restorers who can help.

Cheers for the replies, reinforced my belief I should keep them sealed and let them get old gracefully.

There are a number of anti-tarnish products, including storage bags, boxes, and even sheets of paper for jewelry and silverware that you could use. They react with the sulfur compounds that cause toning and slow down the discoloration.
