Godzilla the card game 2025 anyone into it

I don’t know a whole lot on this release, but always liked Godzilla

I've been a lifelong Godzilla fan so I've been curious about it from a collecting aspect. I have concerns about it's longevity from a TCG perspective though.

I'd say it's pretty much DOA from reviews I've read. Might pick up a couple starter decks when they get clearanced out.

It's almost impossible to start a new TCG with any longevity. Even licenses like Marvel and Star Wars haven't been able to keep a card game going more than a few years.

From a collecting standpoint, the Magic the Gathering Godzilla cards are probably a better investment, look cooler, and are from a successful TCG.

FWIW I spoke with a LCS near me and they didn't order any. He talked to his distributor while I was there and he was informed that the the distributor hadn't received many orders for it, but had still sold out just based on how little they had initially ordered themselves. They weren't planning on restocking the first set, but were planning on ordering a small allotment of the second set in Sept/Oct

Picked up a booster box, one Hensei (blue), and one Minus One (red) starter deck. The holofoil SPs look great. Not much info on how to play the game at the moment as it’s really new in US.
The starter decks came with manuals but need to see it in action myself.

If anyone is ever looking to pick some up and trade just lmk as I’m gonna put together the complete Common set.
