Hopefully it’s half as good as Upper Deck’s Marvel Cyber convention set that was released on ePack during COVID.

Default Topps Marvel Mint

Looks like more rehashed generic looking art…par for the course with topps marvel sets. They can dress it up with designs, a zillion parallels, and low serial numbers, but just not an interesting set to me as a marvel collector with how generic it looks...almost like AI art. But im sure we’ll see the price escalation game and sports getting involved etc.

encased is the new way to created perceived value....they did that with Topps Now, and they did it with the Chrome Black inserts. People do fall for it but no thanks.

People at SDCC are trying to flip these for $1,000 already.

well cant blame them for trying. Wouldnt be surprised if a couple "sell" for something stupid on ebay and these get hyped up, as is the case with Topps Fanatics

I think the cards themselves look nice enough. In Marvel We Trust on back made me chuckle.

Agreed, very generic and unappealing

I know everyone hates (but often still usually buys) recycled art sets, but I think the design on these is top notch.

“In Marvel We Trust”…sheesh. Topps basically trying to just print money at this point

Idk..that box opening was really rough. Not that I’m at SDCC to get these anyway, but I can say I will be happily sitting on the sidelines (for all Topps marvel if these rehashed art sets are the norm).

Uninspired, lazy and boring are 3 words that come to mind after watching that box. To each their own, but I do not get why anyone would be excited about such a lazy set.

The only good thing I can think to say is, at least the garbage is only $100~, for now.

I promise once Topps does something I can complement them on, as far as Marvel goes, I will. I've trashed most of their releases thus far, but I did say I liked the Reflections cards in the 2025 TC release ... So, there's that!

Agree…I’ve been down on Topps for the generic looking sets, because let’s admit..they are. But I will also give them compliment where deserved. For me that is basically (and only, at this point), the quality of card itself*- super sturdy, foiling/tech is good, and without a lot of the UD QC issues like edge chipping and odd cuts we saw. But an amazing card quality itself does not make a desirable set for me. The content/art is the primariy thing. And I am just not seeing it with Topps so far.

And as expected..selling for $400-450ish on eBay, d’oh! Simply cannot imagine spending that on this…unless the intention of many buying is to sell it for even more, which it probably is. The new landscape of Marvel cards is becoming foreign to me.

*: I know about the quality in hand not because I bought a single Topps marvel card to date in this era…I haven’t…but rather because some sellers have included some marvel chrome as freebies with other eBay purchases

I'm almost positive the Reflections subset in 2025 TC is original art. I could be wrong though, that happens often

You aren't alone in wondering why anyone would spend that much money on a box of what was just shown. If I'd even spent $100 on the box above...I know I would wonder what exactly I just spent my money on...

While on the subject of overpriced junk...I don't want to give the impression that Topps is the only company that does it. They all do. Problem is that people keep buying it. Then the companies have no reason to change or improve their offerings. So, we are caught in this cycle of mostly mediocre products for what used to be(not that long ago...) top of the line pricing.

In that case I amend my statement to also complimenting that subset Since I don’t follow Chrome much I was not aware of it. Looking on eBay it does say on the backs of them art done by Rebeca Puebla, which I guess would suggest OA? They do look nice, the Galactus and Thanos especially.

100%…clearly people are buying up Topps marvel stuff like crazy…including people from sports who are not otherwise interested in marvel cards. I see people scrambling to find blasters of Marvel Chrome ‘25 all over social media. So with the sales these must be doing, guess there’s no reason for Topps to even do a through, commissioned-art set. I’ll save a lot of money at least.

I agree. $100 seems cheap for SDCC, but then you realize it's just a pack, so there is absolutely that SDCC tax lumped into it.

EDIT: Wait, I assume anyone who reads these boards would post here if they opened one. But this isn't just one card a pack, is it?
