***Official 2026 Minnesota Twins season thread***

This is the least motivated I have ever been to create a Twins season thread, but nonetheless, I persist.

Figured it was the perfect emblematic depiction of where we are at to post the thread on the same day that the Buxton trade rumor mill officially leaves the station: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/680...-twins-future/

From the All-Star Game through the end of the regular season, Buxton told anyone who listened he was a Twins player for life and unwilling to waive the no-trade clause in his contract, even after the club dealt 10 players at the deadline.

But a major-league source indicated Tuesday that Buxton, who turns 32 next month, wants to play for a winner and may reconsider his stance for certain clubs if the Twins continue breaking up their roster, potentially by trading starting pitchers Joe Ryan or Pablo López.

Would be just the latest in a long line of slaps in the face from ownership to fans, to drive away the face of the franchise who is a rare player that has been exceptionally outspoken about his desire to stay in Minnesota for his entire career.

I am still not really at a point where I can say much about this organization right now beyond how angry and sad this entire ownership ordeal makes me. I love the Twins and they are engrained in my life, but the Pohlads are doing everything they can to try to make me as uninterested in the team as possible. And that says a lot coming from a guy who has been a die hard through the good times and bad for my entire life. I continue to have no faith in the organization rebounding in the right direction in any sort of meaningful way until the Pohlads sell.
