I saw a thread like this on the football side, and didn’t see one on the basketball section. Maybe I missed it.
Anyway, what are your 2026 PC goals? I’d like to complete my Darrell Griffith By the Letter set. I have 3/10. I’d like to complete the 1996/97 Fleer Ultra Fresh Faces insert set. I have 3/9. I’d also like to consolidate some cards into one nice Jordan of some kind. If it’s an insert, start piecing together the set. |

Finish my run of all "Playing Years " Michael Jordan Base* in a PSA 9. Down to the stragglers. Hint: 1986 Fleer just takes money, 1998 Spx Finite or 1997 Diamond Vision takes a miracle.
* pack pulled or pullable, U.S. issues, not the Mufflon!

Keep up with my Kamilla Cardoso PC. Need to add more rookie year stuff. Continue hoping that the redemption I have for her Prizm base auto gets filled (parallels are live).

Like l mentioned in that other thread... I'd like to collect more Jordan 10s. Some are reasonably priced, around $100 or so, and that's what I kinda focus on the most, though every once in a while I go much higher. I would like to own a PSA 10 copy of the 1992 UD Jordan #23, which is esthetically my favorite looking Jordan of all time... no disrespect to the 86 Fleer.

Liquidate all but a handful of cards whose value I don't care about and I just like.
Turn a bunch of cardboard into a bunch of green, government issued, paper, essentially. |

I also have some higher end bottles of bourbon that I’m considering trading for a nice Jordan.

1. Take a day or 2 to sure and organize my collection. This is a huge one and a daunting task that needs to happen. I have my main PC Cards together. But so much other stuff I have that I need to organize so it just feels/looks better, and I’ll be more motivated to sell stuff since I wont have to dig through random boxes to find it.
2. Strict focus on my PC guys. So many times it’s easy to get distracted by rookies or just seeing what you think is a good deal on a card that isn’t PC. This isn’t really an issue for me anymore, but it’s a rule to stick to. 3. Quality over quantity. I’ve reached that stage. Nothing wrong with trying to get 2,000+ cards of a player, that’s actually awesome. But I feel as though where I’m at collection wise, I’ve built up a nice base with rookie cards, random parallels and serial #’d cards, etc. I’d like to focus on getting some more rare stuff. Since kinda coming back into the hobby at the beginning of hoop season, I’ve found myself really only interested in super low #’d cards, on card autos, patches, etc. That might mean less mail days, but also less space taken up, and more value added to my pc. There are some nice thoughts above on this.
I have probably spent waay too much time thinking about this over the Christmas & New Year break. I have landed on the following: First up is to complete a couple of older sets that have remained uncompleted for waaaay to long: 1996-97 Finest: I am 14 cards short of the 291 card Base (Bronze, Silver & Gold) set. I originally fully completed this set in the late 1990s, but then sold it when I took a sabbatical from work to do some travelling. I then started again building a replacement back in the mid-2000s and have never got round to completing it. The set has lost its allure a little due to the subsequent greening issues; but I really do just need to wrap this one up. 2007-08 Ultimate Collection: I am seven cards short of the 100 card base set that is serial # to 199. I own the two expensive cards (Kobe & LeBron), so this should not be that hard to round out 18 years after I started! I then would love to add some more cards from 2007-08 Chronology to collection. I own around 60 cards from the canvas Legend cards & base autograph sets would like to add more. They tend to turn up for sale (at a sensible price) sparingly, so this is a slow burner of a chase. Finally, my collection is really lacking on the vintage card front. I own a complete 1986-87 Fleer set, but hardly anything else of note. So this is a focus for my collecting in 2026. I plan to start with the rookie cards for HOF players released in the 1970s and then work my way backwards towards the 1961-62 Fleer and 1957-58 Topps sets. I will see how focused I can be on the above this year! |

I want to focus on Giannis case hits and nicer parallels, particularly from 24-25 & 23-24. I want to keep my $750 cap on a single card, but I will probably break that eventually. I will avoid picking up any Topps stuff for now and focus on Panini. There's plenty to choose from. I also want to add a few eye-popping patch cards and a few more Autos as well.

Mainly looking to do two things:
1) Pick up Grizz silver and #d Prizms/Topps Chrome refractors 2) Clear out the clutter...of which there's a LOT.

Like a lot of what has been mentioned:
1. Organize my cards. Been getting backlogged with cards that need to end up in their home. 2. Move non PC stuff, hopefully in exchange for PC stuff. 3. Participate more in longer form hobby discussion (forums, YouTube?) 4. Finish two sets/rainbows I’m building 5. Add a Haliburton rc from a release that I’m missing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm not completely opposed to opening some wax but my goal this year is to follow this rule. Before buying any wax, figure out how much Im going to spend, then go to my eBay watch list and ask myself how happy would I be if I spent that same amount on whatever combination of cards I have in that watchlist. While also remembering the extremely long odds I would have of breaking even on wax I was opening.
I really thought about this after buying two Topps Chrome Megas from Dicks the other day and then looking at some of the $200ish dollar cards I've been watching on eBay while the best card I pulled out of those megas was a Shai base. |
