Opening day. Nothing quite like it.

The Miz getting the start and pitching well.

The bats are not rusty at all.

Can't wait for Saturday night.

There's a lot to look forward to with this team.

I have a buddy that is HR (the job, not the result) for the Brew Crew. He loves his job

Bummer about Chourio but hopefully back in a month

I know it's the White Sox but the Brewers in their first 2 games have scored 20 runs and only allowed 3 runs and struck out 31 batters.

He's going to get paid big time and I fear it won't be MKE giving him that 25 million a year he will probably get.

I live in Wisconsin and am sick of Attanasio crying poor, the Brewers rake in a ton of dough and he made the public help him fix up his scoreboard while not spending anything on payroll.

I'm really hoping they pay him. They need to be talking to him now because come the end of the season he is going to be one of the top 5 guys in baseball. Frelick is going to explode as well.

I think what MKE could very well do is hope Made and Pena both hit the majors. One ends up at 2B and the other at SS. If they both are at least decent the Brewers will due what they have always done wait until year before Turang is to hit FA and trade him to avoid paying him.

Until Mark A sells the team to a person who will put money into keeping home grown talent on the team this will just be a cycle the team repeats with keeping players as they near FA.

You are 100% correct. Pena is starting in high A this year, so my guess is he won't be near the majors until next year.

Mark just needs to go be the commissioner and sell the team to some billionaire who wants to just spend. I've heard rumors that there are 4-5 mega billionaires who have interest in the team. Starting to feel like Wendy Selig is running the team again.

Brewers down 7-3 after 7 score 6 in the bottom of the 8th including a 3 run bomb by Yelich to take the lead and win 9-7.

Heading to tomorrow nights game. Can't wait! Nothing better than end of March baseball. Trying to make 1 game per month this year, we will see if successful or not.

Agree on a new owner, someone who wants to compete, spend money and grow the team instead of always playing the "whoa is me" card like Mark.

I get the Attanasio frustration. I really do. But you all need to see the big picture. They operate in baseball's smallest market. Still consistently spend ~40% of their revenue on payroll, which is very much in-line or above most other small and mid-market clubs. You don't see, as it is not published, what Milwaukee dumps into scouting, analytics (think pitching lab), the Latin baseball program, etc. - i.e., player development. They have the best farm system in the game today...that didn't happen by accident. Would you rather be the Brewers or the Angels? A team that spends $80-100MM more on the Major League roster but puts nothing into player development and scouting. It would make NO sense to get one massive free agent, as ultimately that isn't going to move the needle against the teams with massive TV/streaming contracts. Say they signed Bregman to the same contract the Cubs gave him. Their payroll would be close to $170MM. The team might run in the red and it won't make much of a difference over a Hamilton/Rengifo platoon...so why do it?

Unless baseball adopts full revenue sharing, the Brewers will always be behind the 8 ball...and it's only getting worse. To me, the team has done their absolute best to be competitive in the present and have a rosy future. For a financially lopsided sport, there's not much more we can ask for.
