It’s just words. I wouldn’t worry too much about them. But I understand people don’t like them around their children. But then again they might hear them at home too.

What kind of vulgarity? There are vulgar words I drop on the regular but I do not use racial vulgarity.

Some say swearing is a sign of high intelligence. For me it's usually a quick response to the stupidity of others along with my high intelligence.

Yes

And I swear plenty

But using the F word like every other sentence has become too common especially in public

Pole still sucks

People that lack verbal self control in public is a reflection of society's ongoing decay.
Whether it is around children or adults, offensive language is just that.
If people are around you that you do not know, then one should use self control.

It's not cool.
It's not a sign of intelligence.
It is embarrassing.

Yeah people running around cussin' like a bunch of Frank Booth's is bad.
I do love the old Sponge Bob 'Sailor Mouth' episode where he and Patrick learn about 'sentence enhancers' and cuss up a storm.

Everyone else understood the question. You tacked on racism to a discussion in which it has no relevance.

You're not wrong. There is an interview with Anthony Jeselnik where he talks about being able to get away with being offensive, but it doesn't work if it's coming from hate.

It's not just "around" kids, it's the way some people speak to their own kids. It's sick.

People can say the most terrible things without using any swear words at all.
It's all relative at this point.

So true.

My wife teaches 2nd graders and hears all kinds of words.
Half the time the kids don't even know what it means.
They are repeating what their parents say.

There was a time when she called the parent and he didn't see why it was a big deal.

I don't think it's at some insane level but definitely more normalized.

In my lifetime in the 80s I was a kid so I was told cussing was wrong and you didn't hear it anywhere/wasn't on TV (maybe late night pay channels).

90s you had alot of music that had cussing that was slapped with a parental advisory sticker. Public access TV with whatever. By the late 90s you had South Park and mainstream wrestling cussing up a storm.

2000s more of the same above but toss social media into the mix. You could find cussing/erotica/rotten dot com stuff at a click of a button 24/7.

2010s and on .. same thing but now it's all on a phone/tablet. Little kids are seeing it now if you don't monitor.

2020s The highest person in office is constantly cussing and even posting murders on his main page. Social media is mostly flame/troll wars from idiots which will get level headed adults heated and acting a fool. It's essentially normalized and society reflects that.

It's not so much vulgarity that has gone too far in public discourse, it's the incessant use of the words "like", "honestly" and vocal fry that has made people unbearable to listen to. if we then add in their stupid politics that's X 10.

Now if all that and overusing vulgarity applies to you keep in mind, somebody younger than you who talks properly and effectively with good political views is going to make you look like an absolute dunce and for me, when it comes to some of you on here, that would be worth the price of admission!!!!

There's no admission cost to participate on this Forum, although I'm sure Blowout Cards would like users to buy some cards from them once in a while.

As far as "stupid politics" and "good political views", phrases like that used without further context are nebulous to the point of being rendered wholly meaningless, so why even bother?

Like, honestly, idk about u, but I'd be gucci if politics was something that was kept in private/semi-private, if we're being real fr fr. Cuz like, most people or folks have, ya know, like, pretty ishy politics, iwbqh. Like, I don't wanna hear some moron's half baked taek on Jensen's claim of AGI or similar, ya know. Just keep it casual.

Like, if the starter added you to my tripod, I'd just bounce on the round. I'm not about to sit through some poorly communicated point about the Strait of Hormuz isn't vital to the US. I'm looking to play ready golf and spend sub 4 hrs on the round. Feel me?
