I don't understand why anyone would need to spend hours searching for sparkles. They are strategically placed with the inserts in every pack. Same as the variations. Just check the base card in front or behind the inserts and if those aren't sparkles, then there won't be any in the rest of the pack.

I pulled a Madison Bumgarner Sparkle in a retail rack.

It was NOT just before or after the inserts, although, it was on the bottom.

I was speaking for hobby packs. Don't have much experience with retail. But considering yours was at the bottom in retail, wouldn't be surprised if all the retail sparkles were a bottom card as well. One way or another, there is a system for how these are placed into packs. Just trying to save some people hours of work here.

My girlfriend has opened quite a few packs of Topps 2011 and doesn't know anything about sparkles, so I need to search for them as well. There are reasons why people would need to sift through the base looking for them :P
