Default 2007 Topps Sterling Baseball Group Case Break!

I think we have another product that might make a great case break for the Blowout Boards!

2007 TOPPS STERLING BASEBALL

The Breakdown:

Each designed player-themed box guarantees:

* (1) AUTOGRAPHED TRIPLE RELIC #’d to 10 or less OR (1) TRIPLE RELIC #’d to 10 or less

* (3) Base Cards #’d to 250

* (1) MYSTERY PACK featuring a 1 of 1 LETTER PATCH or a BASE PARALLEL #’d to 50 or less.

Expanding from last year, 2007 Topps Sterling not only features the best retired stars, but also the best active players. There are 29 in all…

Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Barry Bonds, Roberto Clemente, Ichiro, Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, Roger Clemens, Roger Maris, Stan Musial, Nolan Ryan, Yogi Berra, Reggie Jackson, Ryan Howard, Tom Seaver, Manny Ramirez, Carl Yastrzemski, Mike Schmidt, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Ryne Sandberg, David Ortiz, Tony Gwynn, Justin Morneau, Bob Gibson, David Wright, Johan Santana, Hideki Matsui and Chien-Ming Wang.

Each 10-Box case of 2007 TOPPS STERLING BASEBALL guarantees (1) Mickey Mantle and (1) Barry Bonds, (5) Autographs, (1) 1 of 1 Letter Patch and one of the following: 1 of 1 Autographed Triple Relic, 1 of 1 Triple Relic or 1 of 1 Parallel.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is what I'm thinking:

20 "Big" slots for the case:

10 slots - MYSTERY PACK featuring a 1 of 1 LETTER PATCH or a BASE PARALLEL #’d to 50 or less.

10 slots - AUTOGRAPHED TRIPLE RELIC #’d to 10 or less OR (1) TRIPLE RELIC #’d to 10 or less

10 "Mini" slots for the case.

10 slots - 3 Base Cards #’d to 250 and the Player Themed Box the cards were in.

Big Slots will be $110.00
Mini Slots will be $25.00

I think the above prices seem fair, let me know if you have other ideas? Raise the Big Slot price and lower the Mini Slot price or whatever?

I did the 2007 Bowman Sterling Football group break about a month ago. I think that went well. Everyone got there cards right away (as promised). The video went up quickly as well. These prices included the shipping cost, supplies, video, and my PayPal fees. This product is scheduled for 11/17/07 right now. I've already contacted Chris about a price.

If you are interesed in this break:

1. Payment can be made by PayPal, Personal Check, or Money Order.
2. Payment doesn't need to be made until 11/10/07. (anytime earlier is fine though)
3. Please let me know how many and which slots you are interested in. (I will reserve and post them for you)
4. My PayPal ID: swjedi2000@comcast.net (PM for my address to mail a payment)
5. Please PM if you have any other questions or suggestions.

So if I chose slot #1, I would get the big hit from box #1?

That is to keep track of the slots. (The slots will be random)

We will have to wait and see how much interest there is before I order the case still.

$110 for a Base parallel is mighty steep.

Yes I know there are 1/1 Letterman cards and 1/1 Cherry Wood and 1/1 Sterling Silver in the Mystery packs but there are only 1900 Letterman cards total. It says they're from "the jerseys of hundred of stars past and present". Unless i'm totally wrong but Mantle, Clemente, Williams, Berra and some others never had names on their jerseys so there won't be any of them included. Also that "HUNDREDS" scares me, that leaves this open to anyone who has played and that TOPPS considers a star.

The slots should probably be:

$175 for the auto or relic
$50 for the mystery card
$25 for base cards

Same total price as the other breakdown.
More reasonble to drop $50 on a parallel with a chance to get a letter than $110.

I like the price configuration the way you have it. I would take two slots right now for $110.00 and take my chances. Not sure how many people would pay $175 with so many "common" jerseys that could be had.

Tim - Marked you down for 2 "big Slots." We will still wait and see on the interest before I order though.

Thanks

Default Please,

put me in for 1- Big Slot

Thanks,
Vinny
PS: I may want another but besides me counting my pennies, I'd also like to give others a shot. Not a bad gamble with random slots being generated.

I agree with this. It states there is a letter patch one per case, which means in the "big" slot there is a 45% chance you're going to get a base parallel. Pretty big chance for $110.

You also have a chance at a Mantle or T. Williams box/card #/10 for less as well.

I am open for suggestions still though. I didnt want to have 3 different slot types? If everyone wants this though, I can re-figure some pricing.

Just in case the slot configuration doesn't change.

Put me down for 2 big slots.

Also, at $110 per People with two big slots or more should be guaranteed at least one relic/auto. What do you think?

If the pricing configurations does change keep me in for 2 slots.

The Pricing I figured was:

$175 for the relic/auto because that is guaranteed

$50 for the mystery pack because there is a 1/10 chance of getting the Letter and 9 pissed people would have paid $110 for a Parallel card.

And the 3 base would stay at $25 because a mediocre player would get less and a hall of famer would get more.

What does everyone think?

I guess I take this a little differently. I'm gambling my $110. and wouldn't want to see a scale where anyone guarantees anything. To guarantee something to someone means guaranteeing little to others.

Also, at $175., there will be a lot of relics that won't do that well to begin with. I might as well buy a whole box ($236.) and gamble that way.

IMHO,
Vinny

Vinny -

Everything would be at random.

I agree, I would rather buy a whole box for $225 than one big slot for $175.00.

Default BB,

I'll also take 1 Mini Slot. Might as well get a little bit of everything.

Thanks again,
Vinny

but for $220 you could end up with two mystery parallel cards #/50.

I guess that is the chance you take.

Does anyone know how many cases are going to be produced? If it's less than last years I might be interested. I lost several hundred on that case and I still have a Ted Williams ?/10 six piece relic card (3 uniform and 3 bat) that the best offer was $100.00 and all of the 50 and 250 print runs of Don Mattingly no offers. I sure hope that if you do this one that you put the cards up for auction as quickly as possible that is if you aren't going to keep them. Like I said if the production run is low enough I might be interested. Good Luck.

With 1 Letterman (each a 1/1) per case, there should be 1900 cases.

Del033 -

I proposed this a while back. Had some interest. Now that its closer to the release date...this can be discussed again.

Let me know if you have interest in this.
