Default 2011 Bowman Chrome Brett Lawrie...SSP or not?

Has anyone heard ANYTHING from Topps regarding Lawrie's cards? His base is in ridiculously short supply; his blue, orange and gold refractor redemptions have surfaced but ZERO refractors /500 have appeared and I don't recall seeing any reds.

Tried contacting Topps through Twitter (they seem to be good at responding to questions there) but nothing yet...anyone hear anything from other sources?

It would be incredible to see Brett Lawrie's Bowman Chrome cards surpass both Hosmer's AND Harper's cards.

No Ref Auto's. I have not seen a red but they may just be held for redemption.

Due to scarcity Lawries Base Auto will likely be higher than Harpers when more hit live.

Can the base autos of Lawrie rival his blue ref. autos /150, being the print run is similar or less?

Curious about this as well.

Even if he has say 500 base autos...

Base = 500
Blue= 150
Gold = 50
Orange= 25
Red ?
Super = 1

That's 726 or 731 total auto's. Pretty low.

I think the Blue will always hold a slight premium since they just look better. Plus Lawrie being a Jay the Blue looks sweet ass .

The speculation on the base auto is way less than 500, correct? I know it is just speculation but the o.p. ask a valid question. Does anyone have an educated guess on the pr for the base?

Can we guesstimate it? I opened 12 cases and got 0 Lawries. Houdini got 1 in a 10 case break I saw...

I figured you would pull out all these #'s and dazzle me. I have no clue

How many cases were produced again?

Sorry, no numbers from me to dazzle you. I, however, am dazzled by the numbers after the dollar sign though.

I bought mine about 10,000 brain cells ago but I want to say it was in the $85 range for the redemption at that time.

I'm as big of a Jays fan as it gets so I had him under "Saved Searches"..but $65 seemed absurd to me..just had no comprehension of the supply and demand.

ok so I just crunched some #s for a few using terapeak.

I compared the each individual SSP auto using the following search parameter:

PLAYER NAME 2011 bowman chrome (auto, autograph, redemption) -(ref, refractor) -(blue, gold, orange, red) -(facsimilie, non, facsimili) -case -bgs -psa -sterling -lot -(pack, packs, box, boxes)

I threw out all the refractors b/c I wanted to see how many base autos of each were sold since release.

I then compared the base autos to refractor /500 autos of the 3 fungible players (harper, moore, banuelos) and 3 next tier guys (Cecchini refractor /417, Heredia, Marte) using the following search parameters:

PLAYER NAME 2011 (auto, autograph) chrome (ref, refractor, 500) -(gold, blue, xfractor, x-fractor, orange, red)

RESULTS:
Total Sold from 10/15-2/3
Lawrie base 59
Hosmer base 50
Turner base 43
Ackley base 34
Moore /500 110
Banuelos /500 104
Harper /500 101
Heredia /500 59
Cecchini /417 49
Marte /500 79

Of course these #s are approximate and include resales of same cards for all players. In the cases of Lawrie and Hosmer, this would be why each #s are higher than Turner and Ackley since the prices have risen significantly since release date; thus, some are flipping previously purchased cards for easy profits.

Based on the #s, I would guess the print run is ~250 or less for the SSP autos. I could go further and compare # of blue autos sold, but I dont really have the gumption.

I bought a case and hit one. They were selling around $175 at the time. I remember when they were less than $100.

I've been hearing they come 1 in 20 cases. Pretty SSP if you ask me

Good info. Thanks for the post.

Should we also assume Ackley 2011 autos are fewer in total number than the others, based upon these stats?

Topps should just post totals on each player.
