Just came across it on eBay and thought the price was ridiculous...how far off do you think he is? FYI it's 23/99 in case you miss it

My guess is it probably won't sell, but if I was guessing I would say $23000

I don't know where the market is right now but I'd hold it for the playoffs for sure. I can't believe it is raw as well. Possible just an attempt to see where the market is at right now or maybe someone is trying to hype the market. You never know anymore.

SHADY ALERT

This card did not grade well and the seller is trying to hide that in the auction. Here is the epic video of this guy's amazing LBJ collection. If you go to 11:30 you'll see the card in question, which he covers the grade up on. You can tell by the paper that's in the slab that it's at least a BGS 8 or below.

The VERY BEST LeBron James 2003 Autograph Collection! Exquisite!! #23 & 1/1 - YouTube

Looking at BGS Population Reports there are only 9 of these that have been under an 8.5. There are 3 of each 7.0, 7.5, or 8.0. So it's safe to say this card is between a 7.0 and an 8.0.

Since the seller says all of his auctions are NRMT-MT or better, it's probably safe to say it's a BGS 8. Anything below that is not NRMT-MT. Technically the seller is disclosing that it's an 8 or better, but still very shady for a very expensive card, especially with the purposely blurry pictures.

Depends on the type of car you were driving when you ran it over

Driving over the card with your car is VERY different than it being an 8 as opposed to a 9 or 9.5!! I mean c'mon...

Okay. Would you pay the same for a BGS 8 Karl Malone RC as you would a BGS 9.5 Karl Malone RC?

Condition definitely comes into play. No matter the scarcity of an item, the better the condition the higher the commanding price.

The card is actually a BGS 7.5.

But without even looking at the BGS label, take a look at that scan. The card looks totally scuffed up in the black areas. THe edges look rough. If Im throwing 10K plus on card, Id definately put condition a top priority. While I understand the numbering is a big deal, in my opinion the condition should be even bigger priority with the $$ I would spending on it. I agree with Matt. Condition makes a big difference in the case of this card

by the time his career is over, Lebron would have played the majority of his years as #6 and if he breaks and records or wins any championships it will be wearing #6, so the JSY# on this card means nothing to me....

Most people attribute Lebron to #23 than #6. Those who pay premiums for jersey numbered rookies also put an emphasis on having the players jersey number from that year as well as that depicited on the card itself.

You may not care for Jersey #ed cards, but there is no doubting a community of collector that will pay premiums and top dollar for jersey numbered cards. In this case, the #23 is more premium than #6 amongst those collectors.

I'm not saying I don't care for JSY# cards, I am saying when Lebron's career is over and done with, he will have broken records and won championships (hopefully) with the Heat and wearing #6. Maybe right now, people still associate #23 with Lebron and that makes sense as he was in Cleveland for many years to start his career and has only been with the Heat for a couple, but when all is said and done, Lebron will be remembered as #6 and that is the JSY# they will retire. Which Exquisite rookie serial# will be more valuable at that time? #6.

No. His #23 will always be more prevelant than #6 when it comes to 03 Exquisite RAP. I cant tell you which one will sell for more, because I honestly dont know who is payinig what for whatever they want. Thats subjective.

Just look at the 03 Exquisite RAP. You tell me if 23 or 6 comes to mind. You also tell me if Cavs or Heat come to mine when you specfically look at that card. His Rc yr is Cavs and #23. It will always be that. Even after he wins championships and MVPs with the Heat, his rookie year will always have 23 and Cavs associated with it.

Ill take #23 / xxx over #6/xxx all day every day for Lebron Rookies from 2003.

His best card. Bar none.

I'd personally take the MJ/Lebron Exquisite dual logoman auto 1/1 over this.
