Default Magnetics vs. Screwdowns

Is there a major difference between the two? I know magnetics are easier to use, no screws or screwdrivers, but does one or the other cause more damage to the card?

typical "old fashioned" screw-downs would really muck up the top edge of a card, and their corners are not "diamond" or open around the corner and a bit of the edge to prevent damage.

go with a magnetic 100%

just make sure you use the right size magnetic and dont take them with you jogging and you should be fine.

i love the magnetics. i myself put them in graded card sleeves. so they dont scratch. is there a sleeve that would fit a magnetic better? team bags are too small.

I don't think the new screw downs are bad, i have opened up my car door and had a monster box fall out at a show, all the cards in the magnet holders were thrown out of the case and the screw downs stayed protected. That being my only experience i am a screw down guy. Both have pros and cons i suppose.

I once had a sweetspot card in a screwdown for an extended period....I guess the fit was a bit too tight as when I attempted to remove the card the whole face of the card stuck to one side of the screwdown and ripped in two

The only problem I have with magnetics is even if it's the proper size, the card shakes around, and the edges can get damaged like that. I just fold a penny sleeve in half, and put that in the magnetic with the card. No more shaking.
