Kinda sorta got this idea from Ooosh and her PC of her main man (Travis Snider), but I figured I'd show off my Hanley collection a little with the change of scenery and all. Just excited to see him in a new uni, I suppose.
Quick story of how it started: I lived in Boston for high school, and ended up really becoming a fan while he was a Paw Sox. So I've been collecting him for about 8ish years now. And as all collectors know, it only goes downhill from there! ![]() Here's a link to it so I don't spam giant scans: Hanley PC - NFT pictures by W_Raoul2 - Photobucket I'd be curious to hear what your favorite card is from it, as well as your opinions on the trade, the future for both teams, etc. I love to talk baseball more than anyone! ![]() No fighting please, if you think Hanley is a clubhouse cancer and talentless, please show me your batting title. All input on my cards are welcome though. So feel free to tell me how bad the centering is on each and every one! ![]() As always, thanks for the read.

So first off, your Hanley PC is ridiculously awesome. My favorite has got to be the 2011 Marquee Museum auto, i just think that set was as close to perfect as you can get. I also really like the triple thread booklet with all the patches.
As far as the trade, I watched Hanley in the series against my cardinals and he looked really into the games, and happy to be there, so I think the change of scenery will help him, and playing with guys like Kemp and Kershaw will be good for him. I also thing Don Mattingly has a good presence and will help him mature as a team leader. Again, sick cards and thanks for sharing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and this one because I sold it to you ![]() ![]() Honestly, I'd be proud. A great collection, and probably the best Hanley PC in the world. I was sad when he left Miami, but the fire wasnt there. I see him busting his butt in LA, and getting his career back on track (He is still young). I was going to post all my favorites, but I stopped after a few because there were to many |

That's the first thing I noticed in STL as well. Just seems like a completely different person. I think it's partly because now people care more about how neon Kemp's shoes are than Hanley's OPS (not that I have an issue with Matt Kemps footwear). Which is what H2R (err H13R?) really needs. As well as a manager like Mattingly that isn't afraid to tell him he's wrong. Hopefully they can work out the kinks in his swing, and he'll back to .300 in no tome. Here's to hoping! ![]() Thanks again! Quote:
I'll admit it, I loved him on the Marlins, but there was just too much baggage. Loria's love for him and then hate for him is probably the worst thing for a player. I dunno if I'll ever get used to #13 though, so weird not seeing 2. The way I see it, is it's like a superstar prospect, and he never gets the right hitting coach and he never makes it halfway to his potential. It seemed that they could never get the right guy to reignite the fire, and for some reason I think they guy that needed to change was Loria/Samson and not some random slew of different managers/hitting coaches every 3 months. I think the 3B thing was what completely doused the proverbial "fire" we're referring to. There was no going back after that, Just started the hourglass on his playing time there. I dunno what they're doing with that team now (Go Giancarlo, though. ![]() Thanks again for the kind words though, I'm glad you like so many of them! Oh please, we both know if Travis had more cards you'd have all of em. When he gets called up full time I expect you to be up to par, if not more! ![]() And just this once, I'll allow you to say I have a Man-ley crush. But just this once! ![]() Thanks, buddy! You should show off the Paulie PC soon! I might be depending on a lot of things. Pics? Cracked? Taped? COA? etc Shoot me a PM if you'd be willing to discuss those!

I liked it better when he played SS, but with Dee on the team I doubt he is going back. His relationship with the Marlins was just weird in general. As for the Marlins, I cant say I like what they have done, but we could be good in a couple years A rotation of Eovaldi Turner Nolasco Buerhle Josh Johnson (I'm hoping we trade him for some great prospects) and Jose Fernandez will be in Miami to help in 2 or 3 years at this pace. A lineup with Reyes, Stanton, and Lomo has some key pieces to build around. I'm hoping we do the following Trade JJ for a strong prospect (Profar? A guy can dream ![]() Sign 1 solid pitcher Acquire 1 good hitter to replace the hole Hanley left (David Wright? ....Still dreaming ![]() Get rid of Buck, and get a MLB level catcher. I dont need an all star to make me happy, just an average player. With those pieces I can see us being a contender |

To me that rotation is a lot of ifs, though. Not saying it's not possible, it definitely is doable, but that's a lot of faith in some young guys who haven't really been tested under that much pressure. Nolasco needs to go though, he just can't get outs in a Marlins uni without giving up 3 HRs. I still don't understand why they're trying to move JJ. I know the asking price is high because of that, but when he's on, he's lights out. Fernandez is gonna be killer when he grows up, though. Reyes and Stanton seem to be the guys in MIA now (well not including the entire Heat team), if LoMo learns how to play baseball, he'll be a great starter, too. I try not to fall into the "maybe if he got off of Twitter and into the cage...." guy, but seriously, that's what it looks like to the public. He continuously hits .220 and tweets about how sexy Bieber is. Just seems like he doesn't care, though I'm sure that's not the case... (hopefully. JJ for Profar? Don't even tease me, I wanted Profar for Hamels worse than anything. :x Just out of curiousity, where would you put Reyes if that deal fell through? 3B? That would just be perfect for the Marlins. LOL They need a 3-4 hole guy to replace Hanley, but that shouldn't be too difficult with all the Hanley money they're saving. Plus, Carlos Lee. Buck, lol. I have the mindset that you just need a great defensive/game caller catcher, and anything offensive is just a bonus. But with Buck, it's so bad.... Hitting .087 or whatever it is, is just terrible. Definitely agree. Didn't they get a power hitting catcher in the Tigers deal? Maybe there's the answer. Sorry for the rant, you've got me interested! :P

I love JJ also, but he isnt the same pitcher he was last year. Every game he went out last year, he touched 97-98 and hung around 95 the whole game. Now he tops out at like 95, and his slider isn't as nasty. I still think he can get his pitches back, which Is why I'd want to keep him. The Marlins want to keep him also, that is why they are asking so much ( I read somwhere that they wanted Profar or Olt+more). If we did get Profar, that is a good problem to have when you have 2 amazing SS's. We'd figure it out. Thinking about it, Dee makes so many friggin errors I can see him moving to the outfield next year. I'd love Hanley at short, and I think he would also. That rotation is a lot of ifs, but is very possible. Nolasco can stay until we find a replacement, he is very inconsistent, but has good stuff. LoMo's tweeting is 100% unproffesional. I cant think of any other athlete that says stuff like he does on a daily basis, and doesnt get abused by all sports media. If he can focus, I can see 275 with 20 HRs which is a solid piece of a team. Don't forget he is only 24. |

I don't even wanna think about that. Over half has been traded for though, so it's probably not as bad as I think. Plus it's been spread out over 8 years lol.

Haha, I think that I have a decent stash of Konerko's right now. I've only been collecting him for a little under 2 months.

As far as two SS's, isn't that what you said with Hanley and Jose? Two All star SS's can't be a bad thing..... Oh wait, ooops. Don't get me wrong, I was just as excited as anyone for that right side of the infield, but I would be a bit more cautious on the 2 SS front. That's what Mattingly's issue is, if Hanley can hit like Hanley while playing short, it's his job to lose. Dee doesn't have as good of an arm, and he's not really better defensively, no reason not to try it. Although, Hanley said he's not ready, he's taking grounders at short everyday though.... Can you imagine having Gordon-Kemp-Ethier? ![]() Normally, you'd look at that rotation, and be excited, but with that front office, I can't help but think they're gonna trade Turner/Eovaldi in 2 years for a veteran guy on his way out.... They seem to switch from preparing for the future, to let's go get it now. And it absolutely devastates their farm system each time.... It's really tough to watch, and you feel for Marlins fans. At least the Cubs are putting an effort forth with their prospects.... ![]() If Lomo can focus. He's a very, very good 5 hitter. And I mean that in a good way. But I think his focus might be the biggest IF on the team, now that Hanley is gone. I guess you gotta look at the bright side, and say that the future is just that, bright. But if I were a die hard Marlins fan, I'd be very weary of potential moves where we lose it all again. It seems they rip out your heart, put in a pacemaker, and then rip that out later.... Quote:

How is the new park though? I'm tempted to make a trip, but I can't tell if I think it's ridiculous or if I'm intimidated by it. LOL I'm a Phillies fan though, although I don't exactly like saying that this year. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a Cubs, Dodgers, Rangers, and Dominican Republic hats that I wear just as often as the P. :P Just take a look at my regular Baseball PC, you can see that my collecting is completely schizophrenic. :P

The stadium is absolutley beautiful, and stays at a cool 73ish degrees. Very comfortable , a great atmosphere, and it is very bright . It is a must see, and very well could be the nicest stadium in baseball. The Statue isn't that bad, people make it to be worse than it actually is. It fits pretty well with the stadium. |

I've heard nothing but good things about the new stadium. I'll have to make a trip down there sometime when they're playing someone good. Can you generally walk up and get good seats? Thanks, buddy! I appreciate it. Can't wait to see him in a Dodgers uni on a card. Thanks, that really means a lot! ![]()
