I'm not saying it wasn't shilled, but have YOU ever seen that card? I haven't...
The 16 feedback bidder also bid quite late and at a price that would seem absurd, unless they were desperately trying to win it... why would a shiller risk a relist by shilling that much, on a card you don't deem to be worth that much?

I'm confused - which bidder is the shill?

It seems like the first reaction to any auction ending higher than expected is to accuse the seller of shilling. It may have happened here, but where is the evidence?

Doesn't seem like a shiller to me(could be though). I think the 16 feedback bidder just wanted to find out what the highest bid was and then put in a large snipe at the end. He put a $1212.12 bid with 10secs left, which was almost double the highest bid at the time. He was the highest bidder for a few seconds before he was out bid.

This looks completely legit. This is one of the rarest Dirk cards produced.

yeah that card used to sell over $2k prior to panini getting Dirk autos. Might have come down some but would be surprised if someone really opened up the pocket book who had been trying to find one for a while.

Dude has bid over 300 times on only 40 items. This is the only card he has bid on with this seller. That's not a shill. That's just how he bids.

I'm pretty sure the OP doesn't know what shill bidding really is. It's a shame too because of misinformed posters making claims without any idea reputations of legitimate buyers and sellers can be ruined.

Seems like people like to throw the word "shill" around if any item ends higher than they think it should.

I am guessing that the term "Shill" is someone who has fake accounts and bids on his own product to get more money from people? Someone correct me if i am wrong because i would like to know!!!! Thank you

I agree with this - I think he was testing the price and then put in his big bid at the end.

I think he just bids that way.

And now the OP is silent...

These accusations are getting to be absurd. 9/10 times these posts are wrong.

Totally agree. The whining is getting ridiculous especially from the people who want something for nothing all the time. Cards pre-Panini are not going for cheap anymore and it is not going to change anytime soon.

as a dirk collector myself, i've actually seen this card several times in the last couple years that i've been collecting. anyway, the price seems legit to me, although i would never purchase it for that price.

lol

That sign of the times set is iconic. And those golds were impossible to get. Legit. Careful with the allegations, OP...especially if you don't know the history of the price of that card.

Can only imagine what the Jordan gold from that set would fetch these days...

It is harder to do a pure "shill" then it used to be because of AuctionSniper type services or even the internet on phones and IPADS where people can bid at the last second. Back in the day I was "shilled" once because I had to put everything into a bid before I went to work (pre-AuctionSniper). When I came back a bidder with +3 feedback kept raising the bid until he found my max amount - did the old bid retraction for entering "the incorrect amount" and got himself an extra $245 I contacted EBAY and nothing ever happened.
This Nowitzki auction is legit. I've lost legit auctions like this to a single other bidder who recognized a card going under value.
