Ben Wallace and the Pistons have agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth $1.3 million. He's expected to officially sign next week.
He was traded to Phoenix from Cleveland and was then bought out by the Suns. Wallace, a four-time defensive player of the year, is less than half the player he once was, but his arrival in Detroit gives them another much needed big man to compete with Chris Wilcox, Kwame Brown and Jason Maxiell for rebounds. An ideal location for Big Ben, but he just doesn't seem to have any gas left in the tank. Aug. 7 - 1:59 pm et Source: Detroit News

For the price this is a good gamble for the Pistons. I think he could be great coming off the bench for 10-20 minutes per game. The magic won't be what it was before, but first he will have to win his way back into the hearts of the Pistons' fans because they were mighty upset when he left.

I expect by the start of the season they sign Jerry Stackhouse too. This is what both of them wanted.

Say it ain't so with Stackhouse. The departure of that ball hog is what helped the Pistons build a nice five year run.

I really liked Wallace, he gave the fans that extra little spice. We needed Defense, and we got it. I know wallace wasnt the player he was back when he was winning the defense title year after year. But i know he wont be starting, but i think he will be playing some good minutes. Hopefully he can be as good as he was when he was with Det a couple years ago.
