Default Fake patch or not?

08 09 The Cup Karl Alzner Rookie Patch Auto 68/249 - eBay (item 150368436655 end time Sep-01-09 18:01:12 PDT)

Look at the edges around the patch the silver looks like the patch was placed in after the fact.

Looks legit to me. Look at the last group break we had. There is a better Alzner patch in there.

Have a look at most of the patch windows in the year's Cup cards. They all have wear around them. It's from packing the cards and the material used around the patch. This wasn't a problem in previous years with past designs though.

Another thing I've noticed is that the top left corners often have a really small slice of grey coloring that sometimes looks like the corner is dinged. I've managed to pick up a couple really nice cards at a discount off the bay because the scan wan't clear enough and other buyers thought the corner was worn. Turns out it's just the cards coloring on that specific corner and the corner was actually sharp.

Just found a good example of this:

Wheeler Cup card

This is an extreme case, but without a clear scan it's very easy to mistake the color on the top left corner for wear.
