Anyone notice there are variations even on the reprints? Anyone know how to tell which ones are the variant?

I would assume its the same as the base variant...the number on the back.

It looks like each player has 2 cards in the set.

Yea, they aren't variants, there are 15 players in the 1957 Insert set, each player has two cards, making a 30 card set.
