A few weeks ago I made a large purchase from none other than Haiku for a couple grand, and all of a sudden a emergency arose where I could not fully pay him back. To be honest, I was probably about $600 short due to this emergency.
Of course, Haiku being the great person that he is still sent me the cards and just literally told me to "pay him back whenever." Then a little after, I was trying to recoup these funds, but out of nowhere I get a paypal payment from Haiku for the the same amount that I originally owed him. He told me to pay him back whenever my situation was resolved. I had the funds a week later and sent Haiku the payment for the money I owed him, and he immediately refunded me, and told me not to worry about it and donate it to a good cause. WOW
I really wish there was something we could do FOR HAIKU and not the other way around, but I feel like if we were to do something, he'd just turn around and give whatever we give him away to someone else. Maybe since the OP knows him outside of here he can figure out something we can do as a collective for Haiku to only fractionally pay him back for his ridiculous generosity he's given to the boards.

Besides all the giveaways and his not so profitable quick sales(for him!), I just enjoy dealing with him. Always hassle free, witty pm's, super fast shipping. Just really nice to deal with a guy like that, especially in this hobby.

Corbin and Haiku are secretly competing for member of the year
![]() In all seriousness, Haiku is a stand up member. I exchanged some pms with him a few weeks ago just talking. Definitely seems like a great guy! He is definitely a key asset to this card community!

I'm thinking maybe we do something in his honor, like maybe have him tell us what his favorite charity is, we take up a collection and make a donation in his name. What do you guys think about that? I personally haven't been on the recieving end of any of his contests yet (they're freaking hard, I got 8/10 on one a couple weeks ago, best I've done hahaha) but I've seen everything he's done for members on here and while I can't afford a lot, I'd for sure be willing to throw some money into the pot for something like that.

The classic question... "What do you give the man who has everything" haha... Maybe we can get the op in PMs and see if he has any ideas since he knows the OP better than you and I. But I would definitely want to be a part of something like this.

I like the idea, But I think it needs to be something for him. Sure, he has a lot but it doesnt necessarily need to be cards related. Something more personal maybe? I would definitely be down for something.

But I'm certainly open to any better ideas if someone has something. But I don't think he does all these contests/giveaways for the hell of it because he can, I think he truly enjoys the giving away to those who need it more aspect of it. Which is why I think a donation to a charity would be right up his ally and something that really is FOR HIM. Anyone else have other ideas? Should I start a new thread for us to throw some ideas out there for this?

In those situations we could have one person run auctions, .99 starting bids, $2 shipping, 7 days, and all proceeds would go towards this collective fund. Maybe have someone who has an ebay store run that portion of it to minimize the fees that would get taken out to maximize our pot. I'd be willing to run the cash donation portion of it, set up a new paypal account with a new email, post the paypal account in a thread on here so everyone can send whatever they feel comfortable sending and nobody needs to know who sent what. Can give the password of the account to a few trusted members so that everyone feels comfortable that every penny sent will be used for the donation(s) and none of it is going to a person's personal account EDIT: Just realized while all this is great to talk about, I think this thread should be about the ridiculously generous act by Haiku towards the OP, I'm creating a new thread to keep this talk separate and let that act stand alone
